Eagles' Safety Dance; Westbrook to Rams, or is he?
Daily News staff and Les Bowen
The Eagles placed safety Antoine Harris on injured reserve with a Lisfranc injury. The move means he is sidelined for the season.
Harris was injured in Friday's preseason opener against Jacksonville. He had previously been with the Tennessee Titans for two seasons and the Atlanta Falcons for three years, but has been hampered by injuries during his career.
After practice the Eagles worked out safeties Jamaal Fudge, also a former Falcon, and Terrell Skinner.
Fudge, 27, appeareed in two Atlanta games last season and 11 in 2008. He also spent two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, playing in 14 games in 2007 and six in 2006.
Skinner was an undrafted free agent from Maryland who recently spent time with the Minnesota Vikings.

A number of conflicting reports have come out over the weekend regarding former Eagles running back Brian Westbrook's future.
A report initially from ESPN's John Clayton on Saturday indicated that Westbrook had decided to sign with the Rams, who worked Westbrook out during the NFL draft weekend in April and gave him a physical. it has been clear for months that the Rams were willing to sign Westbrook -- the issue has been whether he felt his chronic bad knee could take the pounding of playing and practicing on turf, and whether he wants to play for what shows every sign of being a dismal team.
Then, Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reported that Westbrook has not made a decision and has not told any teams where he is heading, according to LaCaanfora's sources.
Rams general manager Billy Devaney told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the team remains interested in signing Westbrook and has been in steady contact with him over the offseason and preseason, but that no deal was imminent.
All this comes on the backdrop of a Chris Mortensen report that Westbrook would make a decision Monday.
More to come ...
Good luck wherever ya go, 36. Richard Saunders
Westbrook should just RETIRE. He had a nice career with the Eagles but the knee and concusions hurt him. Injuries has always been a problem with westbrook and that is why very few teams want him. Westbrook should do his self a favor and retire because health comes before football. briandawkins20

Keenan Clayton has been a safety in his college career. Doubtful he'll be kept as an LB. Something to consider. mccloudmj
Westbrook was a fine player for the Eagles and a class act. I do hope for his sake that he retires. He has the rest of his life to think about and further injury is just not worth the risk. obergruber
Eagles are making a mistake on not resigning B West. He's still got it. If he signs with the Rams though that'll be better than signing with the Washington RacistJersey Team. Phillyexp

Stay retired Brian. I know it's not fair but neither is living with permanent brain damage or using a walker at age 40. There is a good life after football. You just have to look for it. Rick Wise Guy
You've gotta root for him simply because he's a classy athlete. It's a shame how careers can be brought to a halt so fast; those talented fellas have a hard time letting go. He's got a beautiful piece of land down here in Md. with some horses. I really hope the guy gets through this one season healthy, gets it out of his system, and enjoys himself. KNuff
Hope the Rams like him missing all of training camp, not playing in exhibition games and practicing only 1 day a week to save his knee and ankle for game day, because that's all his body can do at this point....but if he and the Rams are willing to do it, go for it. Mark1npt
Westbrook and Favre show up at Vikings camp on Monday. You heard it here first. flyigglesfly

Here's hoping that this high class man can leave on HIS terms. And here's hoping he leaves without the need for more surgery, or anything ELSE that would impinge upon his physical well being. TBear
Trade Fat Andy to Denver for Dawkins. ANDY-IS-FAT- There's a suggestion likely to make people happy. Move some LB's to safety, why the hell not? All the idiots on the board who constantly whine about the "small" defense will get a woody over this one.
