Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III celebrates with fans after a 76-yard touchdown run.
RGIII DOES IT AGAIN
Robert Griffin III may have only thrown for 182 yards and a touchdown, but that didn't stop the rookie quarterback from leading all quarterbacks in scoring for the second time this season. After his worst performance of the season - and his only sub-20 point game - last week against the Vikings (3 points), Griffin posted a season-high 34 points. With 138 rushing yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns, Griffin helped lead the Redskins to a 38-26 win over a Vikings team that had yet to allow a quarterback to score over 20 points. It's time to start considering Griffin as an elite fantasy quarterback if you weren't already.
WHO ARE THESE GUYS?
Speaking of quarterbacks, let's take a look at some unusual suspects (at least this year) in the top 15 this week:
||Sam Bradford (STL)
||26/39 passing, 315 pass yards; 34 rush yards, TD, 2PC
||Josh Freeman (TB)
||15/26 passing, 328 pass yards, 3 TD, INT
||Russell Wilson (SEA)
||16/27 passing, 293 pass yards, 3 TD; 17 rush yards
||Christian Ponder (MIN)
||35/52 passing, 352 pass yards, 2 TD, 2 INT, 13 rush yards
||Andy Dalton (CIN)
||31/46 passing, 381 pass yards, 3 TD, 3 INT
||Ryan Tannehill (MIA)
||21/29 passing, 185 pass yards 2 TD
||Brandon Weeden (CLE)
||17/29 passing, 231 pass yards, 2 TD, INT
||Carson Palmer (OAK)
||23/33 passing, 353 pass yards, TD, INT
||Matt Hasselbeck (TEN)
||25/44 passing, 290 pass yards, TD, INT
||Kevin Kolb (ARI)
||14/26 passing, 128 pass yards, TD, INT; 66 rush yards
There are 10 names (11 if you include Griffin) that were outside of my top 15 heading into the season, and here we are in Week 6 and they are all there. If it was one guy, or even five, I would get it...but 10 of them?
GREENE BLOWS AWAY THE FIELD
Shonn Greene led all fantasy running backs (tied with Griffin for most overall) with 34 points this week. The Jets tailback did it all on the ground, running for 161 yards and three touchdowns. Ray Rice was in a distant second with 22 points. The next closest? Ahmad Bradshaw with 17. That means Greene scored twice as many as every running back except for Rice. Not bad.
