Yes, they have more to play for. If they lose there is a better chance, however unlikely, that the fat man will be fired.

My only hope is that the Eagles don't tease us by getting into the playoffs, only to lay an egg and get eliminated in the Wild Card game.
If they do get in, only a Super Bowl win will redeem the season. Anything short of that and they may as well lose now and get it over with.

If the Birds win out and somehow win the Division I look for them to go far into the Playoffs. Ditto for the Chargers in the AFC. After all the raking over the coals this team has taken from you Cyber-Critics, I would love to see the Birds stick it up your @$$E$ by winning the Super Bowl.

If Eagles win out final four, go .500 beating Cowboys, Giants and Redskin for the year, it would redeem the season. Eagles going .500 for season, knowing they are out of the playoffs (Giants beating Jets) would be more impressive than them backing into playoffs since it would show a lot of character. If they that happened, hard for Eagles not to bring back the same crew and try it again with a crazy season behind them and a full, training camp season ahead of them.

Personally, I think this team is still a fraud. Now that the pressure's suddenly back on, I wouldn't be shocked if they revert to form and lose to Dallas, or even worse, beat Dallas, have the Giants beat the Cowboys and then lose to the Redskins. Remember, they still have 2 more games to ignore LeSean McCoy, and they've played two pretty bad offenses.

It shouldn't be news to ANY real fan that Andy will return.....so long as Andy WANTS to return. I've been foaming at the mouth all freaking YEAR about firing Juan (same as everybody!)......BUT!?! Suppose he DOES get cut loose, and suppose a STRONG new DC IS hired. THIS will probably happen: George, the new DC, in his first press conference, pays lip service to Juan, and his schemes. THEN sets about completely erasing the "old" schemes, player packages, base defense and type/frequency/stle of blitzes, insists on new personnell to fit HIS requirements. Think this is far-fetched? Please google, 1987 Eagles. So if THIS years "D" was screwed up (for the first ten or so weeks, what the hell is NEXT year's gonna look like??? I can't believe I'm saying this, but let's (sob) wait (choke) until (whimper) after the season is over to evaluate Juans return. After all, when Andy asks us what WE (the fans) want to have happen there, we should have a good evaluation ready.

What changes? I'd keep Reid but get another DC, allow him to input his system then "shop" for a few LB's and a safety. Get another OC or just explain to Marty that running is good, get a veteran back up for McCoy, pay DJax, cut Vince Young, get some o-linemen and oh yeah cut Vince (Mr. INT) Young. Get someone else to return kicks and punts. Allow to gel for 10 games (5-5) and serve.

First and foremost a new head coach. 13 years under Reid and no championship! Another wasted season with poor decisions from the coaching staff. Time to move in another direction.

The NFC East is still just a huge, steamy pile of sh*t this year. While it stinks less at the top they really aren't playing for anything more than worsening their draft position, just like the brain trust envisioned.

This will all be over with Saturday night and we can get back to raking Big Red over the coals.

If the Eagles make the playoffs they deserve to play in the SB.

The Eagles would be far better off without Reid. He just can't play the type of football needed for winning championships. If he stays, Lurie needs to insist that Reid draft a long term franchise QB. Give Vick and Reid next year if you must but thats it. Let the new franchise QB sit and play backup next year. At least then, when long last, Lurie sees Reid for the loser he is, he will have his real franchise QB in place for the new coach.

The sad part of all this is that the fat man will most likely be back next year.

The Jets were gaining huge amounts of yardage on run plays in the first quarter. It is only after they fell behind they stopped running. The Cowboys can run all day against the Eagles. Unfortunately, the Eagles fans think this week's game is going to be as easy as the win here in Philly. I doubt it will. While, the Cowboys had an easy game against Tampa Bay who has already stopped playing hard for the year, the Eagles will have to get an early lead if they want to win this game. As we have found out, this team doesn't play well from behind. Also, they will have to limit turnovers and somehow force turnovers to give the Cowboys a tough time scoring. The Eagles could give their team the best Christmas present with a win in Dallas.

If they play like they have the past two weeks they will do very well provided they make the playoffs. Let's go Jets!!!
