POSTED: Friday, June 29, 2012, 10:16 AM

That’s What He Said: When all is said and done, who will have had a better career – DeSean Jackson or Jeremy Maclin? Bob Ford of the Inquirer and Marcus Hayes of the Daily News discuss.

i like Maclin, seems like a nice guy. But really... has he distinguished himself as a top-top wide receiver? Seems to me he's just ok to good, with no real upside beyond that.

I have seen what Maclin brings to the field without Jackson in the line up and vise versa. Jackson is a stud without Maclin. I have yet to see Maclin outperform Jackson when Jackson's not playing. Jackson's better and does not have to be a muscleman to be effective. I like maclin but only in a # 2 role with Jackson.

I think that Maclin is less flashy - but will have a better career than Jackson. I think Jackson is one good hit away from being done. He has had concussion scares before. I think Maclin's career will be overall longer and more productive when all is said and done.

Philly.com - put some meat on the bones...!

PLEASE write something worth reading. I have a suggestion for the next poll: "who's more brain dead, the folks who post these questions or the sport deprived saps who respond to them?"

Do you recognize that you just called yourself a sport deprived sap?

Maclin has all the tools, speed, route running, and he can go over the middle. Jackson, on the other hand, is all go deep and little else. He will not have a long career in the NFL. Once he slows down, he will cease to be effective. Maclin is the kind of guy who will be able to play ten years and catch a lot of passes. I'll say it before and I'll say it again, Jackson is his generation's Flipper Anderson. Maclin, though, has just scratched his potential.

mrjetsondc420, I presume you mean Andy Reid blows you. Go worship Kotite you know nothing about football. Reid has won more games than any other Eagles coach, has more playoff wins than any other Eagles coach and a 10-9 playoff record. Go Eagles!

Reid has also lost more playoff games at home where he was favored to win.

I want a Super Bowl as much as everyone but to blame Reid alone is ludicrous:

During his tenure, Reid has compiled the best win total (120), winning percentage (.609) and playoff victory total (10) in team history. He has captured six division titles and five trips to the NFC Championship game. Since he was hired in 1999, no other franchise has earned more divisional playoff round appearances (7) and only Bill Belichick's New England Patriots have matched Philadelphia in conference championship game appearances (5). Since 1999, Reid has also sent 19 players to 44 Pro Bowl appearances, the highest total for any team in the NFL during that period. None of these players had ever appeared in a Pro Bowl before Reid was hire

Ok, lets not get carried away. One more regular season win and you'll be comparing him to Vince Lombardi.

The Andy Reid situation is one that you will not know what you have lost until it's gone. It's not like we are guaranteed to get a good coach once he is gone. Would you take the tenure of Kotite or Buddy Ryan even, or even better Ray Rhodes back? I am guessing not! It's understandable to want a super bowl and things like clock management with Reid are horrible. I just think that we forget what we had before Reid and how often that is the case. Having a shot at it every year is huge. Let's see how he does without Banner. I think players seemed to see Banner as a reason for a lot of disputes that have plagued this team. I for one am hoping Reid sticks around.

This question makes me laugh. One receiver is a petulant child who pouted when the team went all-in. One receiver is a first round bust who cost us two games last year due to dropped passes and fumbles (ATL and SF). One receiver isn't the deep threat he once was. One receiver can't create space. Both receiver aren't big or good enough to score in the red zone. Neither receiver has proven to be a leader. Neither receiver would garner higher than a third round pick from another team.
