Vick's late arrival OK'd by team

Michael Vick will be the emergency third quarterback for today's Eagles-Falcons game at Lincoln Financial Field.

In spite of that, he arrived late for pre-game warm-ups. His late arrival, however, was approved by Eagles coach Andy Reid, according to a team spokesman.

Vick was not on the sidelines for the start of the game, nor was he expected to be there for the remainder of the game even though the third quarterback normally dresses.

There was some question as to whether Vick would even dress and if he could be the backup, but Eagles coach Andy Reid said Friday that Vick's rib injury had improved. Vick practiced some Friday, but was still not 100 percent and, therefore, Kevin Kolb will earn his second straight start under center.

Rookie Mike Kafka will be Kolb's backup.

The Eagles' other inactives are: wide receiver Riley Cooper (concussion), cornerback Trevard Lindley, tight end Clay Harbor, tackle Jason Peters (knee), defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley (elbow), running back Jerome Harrison and linebacker Keenan Clayton.

Rookie defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim will be on the game day roster for the first time in his career, as will rookie tackle Austin Howard.
