Vick says he's 75 percent

This comes from ProFootballTalk.com: that on his weekly radio show in Virginia, Michael Vick says he is 75 percent recovered from the bruised thigh injury that hobbled him noticeably in the Eagles' loss to Minnesota.

I'm not sure that's enough.

There are days to go yet before Sunday's wildcard playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, and Vick's condition will likely improve -- and, if nothing else, his public assessment of his condition will certainly improve because that's how this thing works.

But we all know the dynamic by now. Vick holds the ball in order to make big plays downfield, and uses his legs to buy time and as a lethal means of counterattack to defensive overaggression. If he can't run near 100 percent, though, he loses a lot of that lethal effectiveness -- at which point he either has to start getting rid of the ball earlier or start eating it more.

Based upon a quick media availability he had on Monday, Vick says he has no intention of changing anything. If that's the case, some of the most important people in the Eagles' organization this week will be the training staff. Because the higher they can nudge that number above 75 percent, the greater the Eagles' chances. There might be no single more important factor as Sunday approaches.

"I'll be 100 percent by the time the game starts," Vick said on the radio show. "I'm thankful we have the training staff that we have. It's a great opportunity to go out and compete in the playoffs. It's been a long time for me so I'm just going to enjoy every minute of it."
