Vick still out with concussion; Foles to start at QB

As widely expected, Michael Vick won't play Sunday and rookie Nick Foles will get his first start at quarterback when the Eagles face the Redskins.

Vick, still recovering from the concussion, was not at Friday's practice and has not practiced all week. Andy Reid will announce that Vick is out and team trainer Rick Burkholder will give an update on Vick's progress after practice.

Vick has spent most of the week resting and has kept a low profile when he has been at the NovaCare Complex for treatment. Foles, meanwhile, has taken all the first-team repetitions in practice and will play in his first NFL game with a full week of preparation.

Wide receiver Jason Avant (hamstring) and running back Chris Polk (toe) are already listed as out. Wide receiver Mardy Gilyard (hamstring) was not practicing Friday. Riley Cooper will take Avant's spot as the third receiver.

Guard Danny Watkins (ankle) was at practice and is expected to start Sunday after missing the previous three games. His replacement, Dennis Kelly, will move outside to right tackle and King Dunlap will switch sides and play left tackle for the benched Demetress Bell.
