Source: Michael Vick to start Sunday against the Giants

Michael Vick will start for the Eagles at quarterback on Sunday against the New York Giants, according to an NFL source.

Vick missed the last two games with a hamstring strain he suffered against the Giants on Oct. 6. Nick Foles replaced him and started in the next two games, going 1-1, but he suffered a concussion and is likely out for Sunday. Rookie Matt Barkley stepped in for Foles against the Cowboys on Sunday.

If Vick or Foles couldn't play against the Giants, Barkley would have started.

But the Eagles don't have to worry about throwing the rookie out there. Vick will be back, even if his hamstring isn't 100 percent recovered. The team begins preparations for the Giants today and will have a light practice. Vick is slated to meet with reporters and could announce that he is starting, according to a report from Les Bowen of the Daily News.

Vick went 1-3 as a starter and played a half in the Eagles' 31-20 win over the Giants earlier this month. He threw for 1,185 yards, completed 53.8 percent of his passes and tossed five touchdowns against two interceptions. He also ran for 307 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries before his injury.

Foles played well for a game a half, completing 67.2 percent of his throws and tossing six touchdowns. But he had a dreadful performance against the Cowboys, significantly damaging the argument that he should supplant Vick as the starter.
