Despite indications from players following Monday’s practice that the offensive line would remain intact, a source close to the situation said later in the evening that King Dunlap was back starting at left tackle ahead of Demetress Bell.
When Andy Reid said last Tuesday after firing defensive coordinator Juan Castillo that he had more moves to make, the offensive line was considered the most likely to undergo change.
Center Dallas Reynolds, right guard Danny Watkins and Bell all seemed to be in jeopardy of losing their jobs after struggling against the Lions. Bell, it ends up, was the only one to actually lose it.
Reid was not available for comment, and practice was closed.
Dunlap supplanted Bell after the first preseason game and started the first two games of the regular season. He strained his hamstring in the second half of the Ravens game, however, and lost his spot as Bell gradually improved. But Bell had perhaps his worst game against the Lions.
sweet! problems solved boys book your tickets now to the SB bhamss12
What about Dunlap, Bell, and everyone else playing the line...then do you think we would be able to run? 5thstrretpast
Hail to the King! watsonmr
Any way you cut it, left tackle is a weakness. Center is a weakness, at least for the next four or five games. Our guards are not playing lights out. And Herremans, not playing next to Peters, isn't having a great season. Only one answer to this, and that is plenty of running plays, and using the short passing game. armchairGM
Now if we can get a new offensive play caller with some balanced play calling we might be ok. Realtor in Orlando- a fellow orlando eagles fan and i agree

With all their cap room, there is no reason whatsoever to not have a legitimate backup center and serviceable veteran backup lineman. Dallas Reynolds is a practice dummy, and Danny Watkins will never be good. Trying to justify poor roster decisions is unacceptable for a team with playoff aspirations. I saw Winston Justice and Mike McGlynn doing a decent job protecting a rookie QB. craigmack
What difference does it make? dasher
The King is back baby!!! I feel better already power808
Truth be told, still will be no super bowl with the Fat Man and Convick along with all the other ineffective coaches. Lurie needs to thoroughly clean house at the end of the season!! oneway- Next year's entire draft has to go to offensive lineman. At least the first 4 picks. Zeru
This team stinks! period. kenny.328.usa
The reason Reynolds and Watkins didn't lose their jobs is because the Eagles don't have anyone better to replace them with. Pathetic! SteveS11
It doesn't matter. Unless Peters can come back this season, there's nothing they can do at LT or C that will make a lick of difference. You aren't going to find guys to fill those spots off the street. JimG
