Eagles wide receiver Riley Cooper “will have a significant demand for his services if/when he hits the market,” a league source tells Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

The free-agent-to-be slid into a starting role during the preseason following Jeremy Maclin’s ACL tear and set career highs in just about every statistical category.

Florio writes that the Eagles would like to keep Cooper, which makes sense after he reeled in 835 yards and eight touchdowns while developing a rapport with Nick Foles. But considering DeSean Jackson is owed $10.25 million next season and Maclin’s contract is also up, the team's wide receiver outlook is a bit complicated.

The Inquirer’s Zach Berman expects Maclin to be the priority this offseason, and thinks Cooper “could potentially earn at least $5 million per season on the open market.”

Things get more interesting when you factor in that 54 wide receivers are currently scheduled to hit free agency, and this year’s draft is loaded with talent at wideout.

It is definitely a position to keep an eye on this offseason as Chip Kelly prepares for his second year as head coach of the Eagles.
