Last night, we rounded up a bunch of rumors, including talk of the Browns wanting to deal for a QB, rather than draft or sign one.

And now some other leftovers we didnt' get to.

Multiple reports have surfaced that the Eagles' asking price for Michael Vick is a second-round pick.

Michael Lombardi of the National Football Post has been saying for weeks now that the Eagles are content to hold on to Vick, regardless of what they do with Donovan McNabb and Kevin Kolb.

Writes Lombardi:

And unless they get a second round pick, they won’t move him. You think that’s too much? Not really if you understand that if they hold on to him and he becomes a free agent in 2011, then signs with another team, the Eagles would probably get a compensatory third-round pick. So it makes sense to ask for a second rounder right now. Who will pay that? No one. That’s why I see Vick back with the Eagles.

The Daily News' Les Bowen checked this report out with the Eagles, who said there is no way to predict what sort of compensation the Birds would get if Vick became a 2011 free agent. Factors would include what sort of contract he got elsewhere and what free agents the Eagles signed. The Birds are unlikely to pay Vick more than $5 million this year on the off chance they might get a slightly higher draft pick in a year.

Meanwhile, Clark Judge of CBSSports.com has quotes from NFL personnel people about Vick.

"They think he can still start in this league," one player personnel director told Judge, "and they're not going to trade him just to get rid of him."

Judge reports that the consensus at the combine was that the Eagles aren't willing to accept anything less than a second-round pick.

And finally, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is told by a "tipster" that the Rams remain interested in McNabb, and that the compensation could be the first pick in the second round.

Florio updated later to say a source tells him the Eagles have not yet accepted any offers for McNabb.

Much more later.

We got a 2nr rounder for Feeley a few years ago...is McNabb's value really that low? I mean he has flaws but has also had a pretty successful career.

I'm surprised they don't want 2 first rounders! This organization is a JOKE!!

Jesus tap dancing Christ. Please don't tell me that the Iggles are really willing to pay this piece of trash in excess of $6M over 2 years to be a third string gimmick when they basically let Dawk walk for the same money.

The only positive to that 1st pick of the 2nd round is that it has more value than the top pick of the 2nd round would normally have, due to the 1st round being on Thursday and the 2nd round starting on Friday. Teams will have overnight to regroup and if there is a top player available that teams did not expect, they may overpay for that 1st 2nd round pick (the Jets did this last year to start the 3rd with Shonn Greene). I hate trading back all the time, but everyone knows AR loves it.

This entire process is a bunch of positioning and rhetoric in order to maximize your assets....Don't you think the Eagles are out there spreading rumors on their own to make the other 31 teams in the league overpay for whoever? Of course they are...you don't need all 31 teams to think a 2nd round for Vick is adequate compensation, you just need one. But if 30 teams are out there saying he isn't worth it, you won't get that 31st team to bite. But if that 31st team hears other teams would do it, they'll be more apt to pay it themselves. Somebody will want believe the hype and give the Eagles a 2nd round pick. Birds package that and their first to move up a lot and get Berry, or as The Reddgie is praying for, a boy named Suh.

I think that the Eagles will be looking for a player to trade for Vick. They have too many positions that we need someone to start or push a current starter.

Top of the second round would be a steal. Generally, first round talent (albeit not elite) at second round price. I agree with Reddgie. Tremendous value for the price they'd pay for the player. If they can get it I think they should. Vick ain't the best QB out there but he's better than some teams' options right now. There's not a lot of obvious starting caliber QBs in this draft and the three or so projected are still a question (Couch anyone?)

I would think that they would settle for a 3rd or even a high 4th by the draft. The compensatory pick would come at the end of the 3rd round. If they believe it is a deep draft, why would you effectively trade down from somewhere in the 3rd to the end of the 3rd. And depending on how deep they view the draft, a high 4th this year could grade out with an average year mid or low 3rd grade.

I don't think teams need overnight to realize a top player is available.

no one will give the eagles a 2nd round pick for vick and the eagles know it. it's a positioning statement. if someone offered them a 3rd, they would take it in a second. i'd trade mcnabb away for the 1st pick in 2nd round + a 3rd.

Third round for Vick, second and third for Mcnabb, that would give us 9 picks in the first four rounds of a deep draft. Even Andy Reid will have to get lucky with a couple of those picks.
