Report: Peyton to visit Denver, Arizona, Miami

The chase is on.

Peyton Manning will be visiting with Broncos officials tonight, according to the Denver Post, and will then be seeing the Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. Soon after, the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero chimed in with a report that the Cards and Fish are the front-runners for the biggest name free agent in recent memory.

From an Eagles perspective, the biggest news here is that you don't see the Washington Redskins mentioned very prominently, adding to the growing sense that the NFC East bottom-dwellers don't have a very good shot in the Manning sweepstakes. If that ends up being the case, it means the Eagles will face a Manning just twice a year most seasons, instead of four (though if the Cardinals sign Peyton, the Eagles will have to see him this coming season).

The Cardinals and Dolphins each offer warm weather, tough defenses and top-notch wide receivers. The Broncos might have an even better defense than either, and their division lacks the kind of heavyweight challenge that the 49ers and Patriots would represent in the NFC West or AFC East.

Both the Cardinals and Dolphins had some decent moments last season, but couldn't sustain it long enough to have successful seasons. If Manning is healthy, though, the landscape will change dramatically wherever he lands.
