Former NFL defensive end Jevon Kearse, who spent four years with the Eagles, hung up his cleats three years ago after 11 seasons. These days, Kearse, who spent most of his professional career with the Tennessee Titans, is reportedly in some financial trouble.
The South Florida Business Journal reports that Kearse is facing foreclosure on his $6 million, 6,064-square-foot Pompano Beach home.
Kearse bought the home in 2004 and signed a $5.25 million mortgage on it in 2006. That loan is now in foreclosure following a lawsuit filed by Deutsche Bank on December 19, 2012.
The Eagles signed Kearse to an eight-year, $65 million deal in 2004 that included a $16 million signing bonus. Kearse recorded 22 sacks and 72 total tackles in 45 games played during his four years in Eagles green. After four seasons, the Birds released “The Freak” and voided the final years of his deal.
Kearse then rejoined the Titans for two seasons, but couldn’t find a team in 2010.
