Here's what Andy Reid had to say after the Eagles' 20-14 win over the Giants this afternoon. I paraphrased the answers so that I could get the post up quickly (Andy was not speaking in the third person):

Opening statement

Reid said he's proud of the guys. It was a heck of a game. The coordinators deserve credit for a great game plan. The guys executed like crazy. The third-down offense did a terrific job.

What does the win do for the locker room?

Reid said the guys have worked hard and pushed through the ups and downs. They are getting healthier. There are going to be highs and lows. You can talk about them, but you have to execute.

How good was the offensive line?

Reid said both lines played their heart out. The defensive line put pressure on Eli and stopped the running game. Great job by the front guys.

Brian Westbrook's performance?

Reid said Brian is playing well right now. The offensive line takes pride in getting him going. He's running like a wild man. They've got to keep him going.

Talk about the timeout in the first quarter before David Akers' field goal.

Reid said Rory Segrest did a great job of letting him know where the team needed to be. Reid wished he would have called the timeout earlier so they could have had the wind for both the field goal and the kickoff.

Was this LJ Smith's best performance?

Reid said LJ's had some good performances. He wasn't feeling well, but he played well and pushed through it. You weren't going to get him out of the game.

Talk about the commitment to the run.

Reid said it was working well so the conditions were more conducive to running than throwing. Donovan also did a nice job when he had opportunities.

When did he start game-planning for the wind?

Reid said his administrative assistant was telling him about the wind early in the week so everyone had a hand in this win.

How did third-string guard Nick Cole play?

Reid said Cole is a good player. He hasn't looked at the film but it looked like Cole played well. Reid said he has a lot of trust in Cole, and Cole can play guard or center.

Why does it take until December for Reid's teams to play well?

Reid said he can't answer that. He just knows the team played well.

Why was Reggie Brown deactivated?

Reid said guys were banged-up in certain spots. They needed an extra running back with Buckhalter being out and Westbrook being a little gimpy

A travesty to play like they did for a month and now like this for 2 weeks running.....just blew the season away.....what a waste.

Realistically, they should be 9-3, but oh well...they'd still be fighting it out for a playoff spot... good game, Eagles, I'm still rooting for a playoff spot, because if they can get in, then they can beat anybody in the NFC in the playoffs...

It's amazing how good this team can be when it runs....I was surprised to see that after 8 rushes and we had -9 yards that we continued to run the ball. We totally dismantled the giants today. The score does not indicate how much we outplayed them. McNabb had a few bad throws but for the most part was efficient. It's amazing how much better this offense is when it just runs the ball and continues to pound the ball...Defense gets rest and looks dominant. Offense looks good too...Reid, don't be an idiot and continue to RUN, RUN, RUN!!!

Dear Eagles fans, if the Giants had scored any points to put pressure on the eagles they would have abandoned the run pronto. I am sorry to disappoint you eagles fans but a light bulb did not go off in Andy Reid's head. They will not run the ball if it is not working AND if they are behind. This they didn't abandon the run because they were in the lead.

I hope everyone is happy now. Two impressive wins in a row. The critics shut the (fill in the blanks) They beat a QUALITY team (the beast of the nfc east) and they did it with the run. Next week maybe three wins in a row.. who knows.. GO EAGLES!!

To komplex2005: Gee, you want to give the critics a hard time for pointing out Reid's short comings in regards to using the run. And the Eagles have their current record why? If by some miracle of fate the Eagles make the playoffs this season, Andy will immediately go back to his pass happy offense, justifying every word printed by the writers. Andy Reid is a passaholic, he just can't help himself and he has the record to prove it.

miracle of fate? I know all you people think it's a "long shot" to make the playoffs...but let's put this into perspective. The Eagles trail the Falcons, Cowboys, and Tampa/Carolina for the wildcard spot. Obviously Tampa/Carolina play tonite, Cowboys play the Giants next week, and the Falcons I believe play Tampa. We play the Browns at home, win that one, and have the Giants beat the Cowboys, and Tampa beat the Falcons, and what do ya know? We own a wildcard spot....weird how standings work out.

Philbilrds, you need to expand your mind. If the playcalling stays balanced, which it will if Marty is calling the plays because unlike AR, he is not married to the pass, there is no team that the Eagles can't beat. We are going to the show. Put it down now. We are going to the show. Believe that. We are going. To. The. Show.
