Reid: Starters will play vs. Redskins

The Eagles' starters, including running back LeSean McCoy, will play in the season finale against Washington on Sunday, coach Andy Reid said at his news conference today.

Reid said no game is meaningless and that the sprained ankle McCoy suffered against Dallas is slight. He also said safety Kurt Coleman will undergo an MRI tomorrow for the biceps strain he suffered against Dallas.

"If you're preparing to play, you got to prepare to play four quarters," Reid said.

Reid said he hasn't talked with owner Jeffery Lurie about returning next year. "We haven't done that right now," Reid said. "Jeffery is a competitive guy and wants to win every game."

Reid was asked if he thinks he'll return. "I haven't thought about that. My mind doesn't go in that direction," Reid said.

Reid was asked about the momentum the Eagles might be building, having gone from 4-8 to 7-8.

"Every year is different but there is a carryover," Reid said. "You see the camaraderie and you've seen the team jell. That can carry over to the workouts."

He was asked about not making the playoffs. "I'll never sit up here and make an excuse for things and I'm not going to start now," Reid said. "I'll take full responsibility for that. I think we all, players and coaches, expected to have a better record than we have today."

Reid dismissed that there was Super Bowl talking coming out of the NovaCare Complex. " I don't know about all the Super Bowl talk," Reid said. "Every year we shoot for that. This year was no different. I've been asked a lot of questions about the youth of the team and I think they have gotten better."
