Tuesday evening, Carolina Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy was arrested and jailed for assaulting his girlfriend, Nicole Holder.

This was reportedly due to Hardy's anger over Holder's previous relationship with rapper Nelly.

According to Holder's statement to police, Hardy picked her up and threw her into the bathroom, bruising her "from head to toe:"

"Hardy pulled me from the tub by my hair, screaming at me that he was going to kill me, break my arms and other threats that I completely believe. He drug me across the bathroom and out into the bedroom. Hardy choked me with both hands around my throat while I was lying on the floor.

  • "Hardy picked me up over his head and threw me onto a couch covered in assault rifles and/or shotguns. I landed on those weapons. Hardy bragged that all the assault rifles were loaded."

The defensive end then called his assistant into the room, who aided Hardy in throwing Holder out of the apartment. Holder was able to crawl to the elevator and flee to a police station.

According to Hardy's attorney, Holder was the aggressor and had refused to leave.

The judge in the case found the description of Hardy's weaponry concerning as well, and has required him to turn over all of his "25-30" guns.
