New Nike uniforms unveiled

Amid gret fanfare today in Brooklyn, the NFL and Nike unveiled new uniforms for all 32 teams, except most of the new uniforms look remarkably similar to the old ones.

The Eagles will be wearing the same uniform, with the exception of the Nike insignia on the sleeve, replacing the Reebok logo. A team source said the new uniform reflects no change in the overall appearance.

The jerseys will go on presale April 15 and on sale April 26 and 27.

A new line of shirts, hats and other products was unveiled April 1 and have been on sale on the Eagles web site and elsewhere since April 1. What was once known as midnight green is now Nike green.

Each team had one player to model the uniforms during the ceremony. Michael Vick, a Nike rep, was there for the Eagles.

"The new NFL uniforms thru Nike are going to be crazy ...  Innovation at its finest!," he tweeted Monday night.

The biggest change is the Seattle Seahawks, who are going to be the Oregon or Baylor of the NFL. The team has the No. 12 on its jerseys, representing the 12th man, and a new color scheme that includes a feather image, for the Seahawks.

* Expect the NFL preseason scheduled to be released tomorrow.

* Good news from Colt Anderson, whose season ended in surgery for a torn ACL. He tweeted: Ran for the first time on grass today with @proact and @BrentCelek. Felt good to be back on the fb field.

The twitter handle of @proatc is Eagles head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder.
