One Jason down, another Jason to go.
With Jason Peters’ contract extension complete, the Eagles are expected to focus their attention on locking Jason Kelce up with a long-term deal sometime in the very near future. The announcement could come as early as Thursday morning with a press conference in the afternoon, according to sources close to Kelce.
General manager Howie Roseman wouldn’t confirm that the Eagles were in negotiations with the fourth-year center, but him and coach Chip Kelly have made it no secret that they hope to have Kelce around for some time.
“Without getting into any specifics,” Roseman said Wednesday, Kelce is “a guy we drafted, a guy we think very highly of, and we talked about it in the offseason, a guy that really kind of fits the culture and the chemistry.”
