How about 11-5?

The preseason is a good time for prognostication. The folks at WhatIfSports.com take that another step, using their computer models to simlulate the entire NFL season.

What the model showed is an 11-5 season for the Eagles, good for second in the NFC East behind the Cowboys. Two of the Eagles' losses are to Dallas. Each game is simluated 501 times.

However, that is not good enough to make the playoffs as the Eagles were nudged out in the simulation for the wild card by Carolina and Minnesota, both also 11-5.

The projections have the Packers beating the Cowboys for the NFC championship and the Chargers beating the Ravens in the AFC. The Packers then win the Super Bowl by an average score of 23-17.

The folks in Vancouver are keeping track of the saga of running back Martell Mallett. He was released Saturday and then recalled from waivers on Sunday.

Mallett was the CFL rookie of the year last season for the BC Lions.

A number of things happening today at Lehigh. Today is the annual Military Day, when the Eagles invite service men and women to attend breakfast. Their day begins with breakfast by the field and a visit with Merrill Reese before they get a close-up look at the morning session.

Also, today, comissioner Roger Goodell and John Madden are beginning their bus tour of NFL training camps. Expect Goodell to be asked quite a bit about Michael Vick and the labor situation potentially facing the league.
