Hugh Hefner turns 83 years old on Thursday. And that, of course, is cause for celebration.

Hefner kicked off his birthday week festivities at the Palms in Las Vegas on Saturday, accompanied by his latest trio of girlfriends, who happen to be a 22-year-old and 19-year-old twins.

Among those in attendance were his former girlfriends, including Kendra Wilkinson, a k a the future Mrs. Hank Baskett.

Kendra and Hank are to marry June 27 at the Playboy Mansion, with Hef set to walk Kendra down the aisle.

“It’s been very nice getting to know Hef. He’s just down to earth, family-oriented kind of guy,” Baskett told the Las Vegas Sun.

Apparently, Baskett and Hefner have been tight since they realized they share more in common than just Kendra.

“It was one of those male bonding moments,” Baskett said. “We ‘re both big Flash Gordon fans … It was like a match made in heaven.”

Speaking of wide receivers, as we reported in Saturday's editions of the Daily News, a league source said the Eagles have no interest in Plaxico Burress, who was released by the Giants on Friday.

According to ESPN.com, Burress was in Detroit on Saturday to watch his alma mater, Michigan State, play in the Final Four.

Here's a little secret: those really aren't Hugh Hefner's girlfriends. They're just there for his image. It's all smoke and mirrors.

The real story here is that the Eagles have no interest of any wide receiver of any caliber...unless they are Mormon or going to make the rookie salary. Go Phillies, the REAL Gold Standard.

OK, so the Giants release Plax, meaning they're likely going hard after Anquan Boldin and will out bid the Eagles. Now the Eagles have an opportunity to the upgrade WR at what will probably be a bargain (provided that he can play, which he probably will) and don't even look into it. What gives?

I love how everyone just assumes the Cardinals are going to trade Boldin, and if they do it will be to the Giants or any other NFC team. Maybe Arizona is stupid enough to ship a player to a team that could easily block a return to the Super Bowl. I'm not buying it.

At least Hank could catch something...even if it's an 83 year old playboy's sloppy seconds...

There is no reason for an 83 year old man to be celebrating his bday in Vegas, nor is there any reason for him to be "dating" or even friends with some random 19-22 yr. old girls. What a dirty old man.

Remember what Redd Foxx said..."That's right. And I'll be a dirty old man until I'm a dead old man."

why dont you focuson getting open and catching the ball when its thrown up to you...how about that! The heck with Hef, I can understand Kendra and understand its the off season, so yea have your fun but you better be ready and better show up this year or the money will be gone and so will you "Girl Next Door"!

I guess that's the next nonsense we're going to have to listen too. All these knuckleheads are going to want the Birds to pick up Plax. It's just amazing.

Les BowenLes Bowen has covered the Eagles for the Daily News since 2002. Before that, he spent nearly 13 years covering the Flyers. It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey.

For the last 10 years, he’s been a selector for the Pro Football Hall of Fame. A native of Wilkes-Barre and a graduate of Wilkes University, Domo came to the Daily News from the Fort Worth (Tx.) His first beat at the Daily News actually wa s boxing, which he covered just long enough to lose two sports coats to blood spatter before moving on to football.
