Forbes says Vick is America's Most Disliked Athlete

Stop us if you've heard something like this before ... Michael Vick has been named "America's Most Disliked Athlete" by Forbes.

The polling conducted by Neilsen and partner E-Poll Market Research says 60 percent described Vick as an athlete they "dislike," "dislike somewhat" or "dislike a lot."

It is certainly not the first time that Vick has found himself on a list like this.

Vick just edged out Tiger Woods in the polling. Woods also hit at 60 percent but he had fewer respondents say "dislike a lot," giving Vick the dubious crown.

Forbes says Vick, "continues to struggle with casual NFL fans who know him mainly for his dog fighting legal mess, even as close followers of the sport love him."

Vick also has a high awareness number -- at 42 percent -- which Forbes says indicates he is known outside of the world of the NFL to a larger audience.

Among the others on the list behind Vick and Woods, Plaxico Burress, Ndamukong Suh, Kris Humphries and Kurt Busch.

Another fine job by Andy Reid and the Eagles front office. Eagles fans don't even like him along with a bunch of other cry baby and selfish players who are difficult to like or root for. The good news is that after next year, Reid and Vick will be gone. Can't happen soon enough.

From the GQ Article: GQ voted the Philadelphia sports community, specifically fans of the Phillies and Eagles, the worst fans in America"Over the years, Philadelphia fans have booed Santa Claus, their own star players and, most absurdly, the recipient of America's very first hand transplant, whose crime was dribbling in a ceremonial first pitch—thrown with his freshly transplanted hand. Boooo! Admittedly, there are some things fans have cheered. Like Michael Irvin's career-ending neck injury and a fan being tased on the outfield grass. Things reached their nadir last season, when Citizens Bank Park played host to arguably the most heinous incident in the history of sports: A drunken fan intentionally vomited on an 11-year-old girl."People that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Doesn't surprise me. Devilish polls always interview devilish fans. If you poll NFL players and non-white fans you will get a much different result.

Whenever Michael Vick is googled, from now to eternity, the dog fighting and dog killing scandal will follow. Americans as a whole, with the exception of the abhorent few, love their dogs. During his VA dog fighing/killing operation, never did Vick think he had crossed that Rubicon where he would be despised at most turns for what he did. He never thought he would be caught.

Eagles fans appear mixed. There are many who would enjoy the talents of Jack the Ripper if he could throw the long pass and beat the Cowboys in December. I believe the NFL should be employing players that are role models for our youth IN A POSITIVE WAY. Criminal indictments and felony jail time should all result in forfeiture of the right to play in the NFL. I think he sullies the #7, worn by an Eagle who played with honor and distinction, through the good years and bad.....

Coach Reid saw the Donovan wagon wheels falling off, so he got off and hitched his ride on the fresher, faster Vick wagon. Rest assured, if he spots a shiny, younger model that can throw deep, Mike Vick will be heading out to pasture in his home in VA.

Don't forget when white folks are googled they have a legacy as well, and its a lot worse than fighting and killing dogs. You rest assured you and yours will make it out to pasture a lot quicker than Vick.

Mike Vick is a success story regardless of what the polls say. Who cares about the Forbes poll. Mr. Forbes past showing as a president candidate demonstrates that his opinion counts as one of the "most irrelevant opinions" in the nation.

Why would anyone like this fraud. He fooled Lurie into giving him an outrageous contract; he fooled the FAT MAN into making him the starting QB; he even fooled some of the gullible fans. He never was a great QB and he will never be a great QB.

Forbes Magazine, poll conducted by Neilse? I don't deny that Vicks actions were deplorable. My mind has to wonder what segment of the population took this poll. Prove to me that those polled reflects the cultural dicotomy of the nation and I'll give it some credibility. It figures that a financial magazine would take issue with the turn around success that Vick has had and try to tarnish his image even more.

I think a financial magazine would love a rags to riches story. This is just a way for them to get a quick attention grab, do a poll or a list and make it negative, even better. I def doubt this poll is a worthy representation like you said.

And that's the face of your Philadelphia Eagles. Thanks, Andy.

Wow, what a surprise. Reminds me of the study that concluded "If your parents didn't have children, there's a good chance you won't either".

Ur prolly the new yorker who yelled out Mark Sanchez's name at the Giants parade. Time and time again athletes say Philly sports fans are the smartest about the game. And drop the whole "beagles" thing. It was pretty funny the first season wit Vick, but its old now.
