Forbes says Vick is America's Most Disliked Athlete

Stop us if you've heard something like this before ... Michael Vick has been named "America's Most Disliked Athlete" by Forbes.

The polling conducted by Neilsen and partner E-Poll Market Research says 60 percent described Vick as an athlete they "dislike," "dislike somewhat" or "dislike a lot."

It is certainly not the first time that Vick has found himself on a list like this.

Vick just edged out Tiger Woods in the polling. Woods also hit at 60 percent but he had fewer respondents say "dislike a lot," giving Vick the dubious crown.

Forbes says Vick, "continues to struggle with casual NFL fans who know him mainly for his dog fighting legal mess, even as close followers of the sport love him."

Vick also has a high awareness number -- at 42 percent -- which Forbes says indicates he is known outside of the world of the NFL to a larger audience.

Among the others on the list behind Vick and Woods, Plaxico Burress, Ndamukong Suh, Kris Humphries and Kurt Busch.

As a fearless crimefighter, I've seen firsthand the carnage that this collection of carnivorous, corrupt, calamitous curs can cause on an innocent bystanders like Polly Pure Bread. The whole breed should be locked up for good...Occupy Dawg Street!!

I agree. This Frankenstein Breed is banned in several worldwide jurisdictions including Ontario, Canada, Miami, Florida, Denver, Colorado as well as the UK.

Many jurisdictions that restrict pit bulls, including Ontario, Canada, Miami, Florida, U.S. and Denver, Colorado, U.S., apply the restriction to the modern American pit bull.

Pit bull bite-related fatalities are numerous and well documented.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) published in 2000 a study on dog bite-related fatalities (DBRF) that covered the years 1979–1998.

The study found reports of 238 people killed by dogs over the 24-year period, of which "pit bull terrier" or mixes thereof were reportedly responsible for killing 76, or about 32 percent, of the people killed by dogs in the attacks identified in the study.

The breed with the next-highest number of attributed fatalities was the Rottweiler and mixes thereof, with 44 fatalities or about 18 percent of the study-identified fatalities.

In aggregate, pit bulls, Rottweilers, and mixes thereof were involved in about 50% (FIFTY PERCENT) of the fatalities identified over the 20-year period covered by the study, and for 67% (SIXTY-SEVEN PERCENT) of the DBRF reported in the final two years.

THE REPORT FURTHER STATES: "It is extremely unlikely that they [pit bull-type dogs and Rottweilers] accounted for anywhere near 60% of dogs in the United States during that same period and, thus, there appears to be a BREED-SPECIFIC problem with fatalities.

Pit bull-type dogs exhibit "bite, hold, and shake" behavior and refuse to release when biting

I personally feel Vick did society a big favor.

I'm totally focused and looking forward to the next QB and the next coach. These two are just wasting time until that happens.
Lurie said last season was totally unacceptable. And then he accepted it anyway. Good job Eagles.

Dog-fighting is bad, and Vick served time for that. But he'll never serve time for another crime that's like the OJ Simpson double murder, but it's only attempted murder. Vick's buddy Quanis Phillips was shot in the leg 15 minutes after a bad fight with Vick at Vick's 30th birthday party in Virginia. Anyone remember that? All witnesses clammed up. There's no arrest. And Quanis will never talk, you can be sure of that.

Yeah I remember that, from the way you talk you were at the party. Or maybe you are one of the police investigators. That's kind of what happened with Big Ben isn't it, raped that girl, paid off everyone, girl clammed up. The only difference between the two Ben raped twice, do you remember that.

And once again no one bothers to read where there was an obvious different number when it came to people who identified themselves as "Close followers" of the NFL. Outside of NFL fans, it really doesn't matter...sure doesn't matter to Nike.

well, if he's going to keep playing at the low level he did last season, and the last 4 or 5 games of the prior year, he will be one of the most disliked athletes in Philadelphia too, but for reasons other than the ones he is disliked for nationally.
