Eagles tender Bradley and 3 others

POSTED: Wednesday, March 2, 2011, 9:14 PM

The Eagles have tendered offers to linebacker Stewart Bradley, guard Max Jean-Gilles, cornerback Dimitri Patterson and running back Eldra Buckley, the team announced Wednesday.

All four would remain restricted free agents if the old collective bargaining rules hold up. The CBA expires Thursday at midnight.

Bradley received a second-round tender, Jean-Gilles a fourth and with Patterson the Eagles have the right of first refusal. Buckley is an exclusive rights free agent. If another team were to offer the above restricted free agents a contract the Eagles would have a week to match the offer.

If the team chose not to do so they would receive the draft pick in which the player was tendered in return. Last season, running back Mike Bell was the only RFA to switch teams when he left the Saints for the Eagles.

With one day left until the deadline, the Eagles did not tender the following restricted free agents on Wednesday: guard Nick Cole, linebacker Omar Gaither, defensive back Antoine Harris, running back Jerome Harrison, cornerback Ellis Hobbs, linebacker Akeem Jordan, punter Sav Rocca, linebacker Ernie Sims and guard Reggie Wells.

The Eagles also named Matt Nagy their offensive quality control coach.

I won't miss them, but that's a lot of linebackers (3) to boot. Eagles better be prepared to draft a couple or spend some money in FA.

I'm surprised they're willing to let Jerome Harrison go so easily. They don't have any other competent backup to McCoy. You'd think they'd at least tender Harrison at the right of first refusal level.

Agree about Harrison. Are there any restrictions on the number of tenders a team can make? And what salary did the Eagles have to offer? Maybe the Eagles thought they would have to pay Harrison more than they were comfortable paying.

There is still tomorrow. The Es might not be done and I agree about Harrison.

If we get a bag of footballs in return for the three we tendered we would be robbing the the team offering the footballs.

Straight Up - Harrison is better than McCoy. He's faster and on 3 occassions came right in and was at or got 100 yards. McCoy has about 3 100 yard games in his career! I like Harrison better.

Hawk may have been released, but he will be back with the Packers...it was strictly a cap issue why he was released..they will resign him before anyone has a chance to make him a offer.

Hawk was making $10 million. No way is he worth that much. Decent player, but not 10 mill decent. He's not the LB we need.
