Eagles sign third-rounder

POSTED: Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 1:32 PM

The signings keep coming.

The Eagles  announced they have signed defensive end Daniel Te'o-Nesheim to a four-year contract. Te’o-Nesheim was the team’s third-round draft choice from Washington.

That leaves the Eagles with 10 of their 13 draft choices signed with nearly 6 weeks until training camp.

Te’o-Nesheim started in every game (49 total) in his four-year career with the Huskies, and finished as the school’s all-time sacks leader with 30. A two-time second-team All-Pac 10 selection, Te’o-Nesheim posted 14 tackles for loss and 11 sacks as a senior in 2009.

Top 3 selections? I could be wrong, but by my count they still need to sign Graham, Allen and 5th rounder RiCooper.

I really hope I'm wrong in thinking this "fastball" philosophy has run it's course, but I just can't see Te'o winning matchups against the interior of that Dallas line. I would have liked to seen McDermott branch out from the fundamentals of JJ's D, the way Spagnuolo did when he went to NY. Maybe it's not the philosophy, but rather the personnel. Let's hope.

He also should see some action at DE not only DT at passing plays.

power running teams eat this "fastball" nonsense alive. that said, the more healthy/productive bodies along the line the better. having stu back and some stability at LB will also be a huge boost. any way you cut it, eagles D has to be better this year. unless of course that black hole at CB lingers...

Good Job Eagles. Now we only have to sign Nate Allen and Brandon Graham to long term deals because they will be able to contribute right away this season. Brandon Graham and Trent Cole will be something special to watch this year. Watch Out Romo, McNabb and Eli Manning. Eagles Defense will be swarming after you this year.

They are going to have a bunch of 3rd and 4, 3rd and 5, 3rd and 6's get converted on the small defense by running it right up the gut. For the Eagles defense to really prosper, they need DT's who can produce pass rush pressure and still defend the run, and they don't have that.

Now that McNabb is gone, who are fans going to rag on next? Any suggestions?

No matter what Andy Reid thinks, football is pretty basic.Control the line of scrimmage with the run game and stop theirs. This team isn't built for either one.

MJPD- 11-5 last year moron. Please tell me who we lost besides mcnabb? top 5 in sacks too. top 6 offense too.. oh and fyi- colts had the 31st worse running team last year if you are going on what you said.... Both super bowl teams last year 1st and 2nd PASS offenses.

who cares!!! MJPD345- it's really is that simple; AR is like the little league coach who has a Qb that can throw but with very small linemen..as in SACKS, NO TIME and POOR PASSING RESULTS....

sign haynesworth to a two game contract to play against the skins. that would be his only motivation to earn his paycheck...to make synder, the man who gave him 100 mill, look bad.

As bad as last years D was, this one looks even worse. When you have soft and dumb players like Harris, Demps and Fauku as major parts of your defense it won't turn out well. GO ECONOMY!!

I agree with fman727, we still are a playoff team.
