Eagles sign DE Pannel Egboh to practice squad

POSTED: Wednesday, October 13, 2010, 12:11 PM

The Eagles signed defensive end Pannel Egboh to the practice squad Wednesday morning.

Egboh, listed at 6-foot-6, 287 pounds, had been picked up by the team shortly before the Eagles final preseason game and had a sack and a forced fumble against the Jets in that contest.

He played at Stanford, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the 49ers in 2009 and spent some time on the Texans practice squad that year.

The Eagles had an open spot on the practice squad after adding wide receiver Chad Hall to the active roster.

More after we hear from Andy Reid later this afternoon.

What's with all the damn DEs? How about serviceable OLs?

Our offensive line is the best in the NFL. That's why we don't need to sign anyone......By the way, does anyone have Brit Reid's number? I need to get what Andy is smoking.

Remember when all you idiots complained about us drafting too many offensive linemen in the first round? I do.

I'm with 'nosupportgroup'. How about a lineman that wasn't working as a revolving door, or stand-in for the remake of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" before joining the Eagles.

Remember when the only goal Jeffery, JoeB and Andy was to win the Lombardi Trophy......NO, neither do I....money first.....a first round loss second and status quo is the target......Otherwise, the Aroogant one would be fired and Shanahan, Gruden or Cowher would be here.....Andy can jplay his rude game making the same mistakes evry year for 11 years because Jeffery and Joe's goal is money NOT winning the only thing that counts......

hey nuggett how would you rank Lurie against previous ownership, Braman and Tose.Tell me who you would rather have. Tose was beloved but really only had fleeting success with Vermeil and Philly almost lost the team to Arizona from his gambling addiction. Braman squeezed every last drop of profit he could from the Eagles ( look now he is one of the richest men in the US). So why do you and the rest of Philly hate current ownership which has a pretty good track record of success. I have my own explanation but I would like to hear a rational one from the haters.

Well said notch44. It's getting a little old with all the Lurie & Banner bashing. Especially when it comes to money. It doesn't make any sense. Take a moment to look at the track record. Plus, like all teams, they have to follow the salary cap. I'd like to have a top rate OL too. Where do we by them, Wallmart? Sears? Everyone acts like these players are sitting on a store shelf waiting for someone to buy them. Then when the Eagles do spend money on linemen, Peters & Stacey Andrews of late, they don't pan out a well. So I guess they'll blame Lurie and Banner for spending too much money. Lurie has been the most hands off owner this team has had in recent memory. Many other NFL teams would love to have him as an owner.
