Eagles release Harbor, Watkins
The Eagles have released TE/WR Clay Harbor and former first round pick, G Danny Watkins.
Harbor announced his departure via Twitter and Watkins' release was reported shortly prior. Watkins had not received glowing reccomendations from Chip Kelly, but was the team's first round pick in the draft a mere two years ago, playing in 18 games (an Eagles draft pick whose career brevity is matched only by Jon Harris in 1997, reports CSN Philly's Reuben Frank).
Harbor, generally liked in the media, was given every chance to make a statement, but was determined to be not a great fit. He is expected to get picked up somewhere.
Want to thank the Eagles for the last three seasons it was a great to be able to play in such a passionate city!— Clay Harbor (@clayharbs82) August 31, 2013
