Here are the players who absolutely are eligible to be unrestricted free agents whenever there is free agency, assuming they aren’t franchised:
David Akers, K
Ellis Hobbs, CB
Bobby McCray, DE
Quintin Mikell, S
Michael Vick, QB
Reggie Wells, OL
What happens: The Eagles are expected to try to retain Vick, Akers and probably Mikell, from a leadership standpoint. Very unlikely they try to keep McCray or Wells.
The following players would be restricted free agents, under last year’s rules, which said you had to have served 6 years to be unrestricted. We don’t know what the threshold for unrestricted free agency might be in a new CBA:
Stewart Bradley
Nick Cole, G/C
Omar Gaither, LB
Antoine Harris, S
Jerome Harrison, RB
Max Jean-Gilles, G
Akeem Jordan, LB
Dimitri Patterson, CB
Sav Rocca, P
Ernie Sims, LB
What happens: If they are restricted, I would expect the Eagles to tender Bradley, Harrison, Jean-Gilles, Patterson, and Rocca, at least. If any of them is unrestricted, that makes it more complicated.

Vote: Grade the Eagles
Franchise Vick, resign Akers and Rocca and let the rest of them go. They aren't even worth keeping around for depth- I would rather get Ike Taylor or Cromartie. You still need to sign Vick and extend Jackson. Taylor comes at a cheaper price. You don't need a superstar back there, you need a quality guy. I would also hope they look at some of the free agent O-Lineman and Michael Huff.— oharabri
- Who would ever re-sign or sign as a new free agent with these losers who can't even make it past one game in the playoffs, better yet win a Super Bowl. I would say players would want a team who wins. Not these bonehead losers with a dog Killer!— MRD
