Eagles center Jason Kelce, who feeds footballs to quarterbacks professionally, has agreed to feed his face with chicken wings at Wing Bowl 22.

"No question, I would love to eat in the event. No doubt," he told Angelo Cataldi and company on SportsRadio 94 WIP's Morning Show.

"Oh, my God, would that be insane!" said the excitable Cataldi.

"We have never had a current athlete in our event," he added.

"I am saying yes. ... Definitely. Without question," Kelce said.

The invitation came about as a suggestion from one of Kelce's teammates, long snapper Jon Durenbos, who'll serve as Wing Bowl's celebrity commissioner for the second straight year.

The annual spectacle, which includes a procession of costumed entourages and legions of contestant-assisting Wingettes, as well as a half-hour poultry-part chowdown, is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, at a soldout Wells Fargo Center.

Kelce said he might trim his heavy beard to minimize the mess.

"There's probably going to be some chicken in there for weeks before you find it all," Cataldi quipped.

"Next year, you will not be able to attend because you'll be going to the Super Bowl," he added.

"Exactly," Kelce said.

Although cohost Al Morganti, who invented Wing Bowl, said Kelce will need to do some qualifying stunt, expect that to be a formality.

Before Kelce, Wing Bowl had accepted 21 contestants who performed in-studio eating stunts (like Bam Bam Bigelow's eating six cheesesteak pretzels in under four minutes), won various head-to-head wing-eating competitions, or qualified by winning the event.

Jamie "The Bear" McDonald, who ate 287 wings to take the trophy last year, will be back, and so will Jon "Super" Squibb, who won three times.
