Eagles announce 2014 training camp schedule

Team will hold three open practices, including one at Franklin Field.

The Philadelphia Eagles announced their 2014 training camp schedule on Wednesday, which begins on July 25 and is highlighted by an open practice at Franklin Field on August 10.

Last season was the first time in 17 years that the team did not hold camp at Lehigh University. Instead, they had several open practices for fans at Lincoln Financial Field. The team will do so again this year, and will invite a select number of guests - including season ticket holders - to their regular practice sessions at the NovaCare Complex.

This year, there will be two open practices at the Linc in addition to the one at Franklin Field. Those practices will be on July 28 and August 3. No tickets will be required for the open practices at the Linc.

The New England Patriots will also play a role, as they will hold joint practices with the Eagles in Foxboro. They were at NovaCare last season prior to the teams' preseason matchup on August 15. Last summer, the two teams practiced jointly in Philadelphia.

"We are looking forward to another summer of Eagles football in Philadelphia," said Eagles President Don Smolenski. "Although the total number of open practices has been reduced from last year due to events in and around our stadium as well as the joint practice sessions in Foxboro, we remain committed to providing our fans a fun atmosphere as they get an up-close look at our team, including what we think will be a special day at Franklin Field."

"We are excited to have the Eagles return to Franklin Field," said Penn's Director of Athletics, Steve Bilsky. "The Eagles enjoyed so many memorable moments here from 1958-70, and we think August 10 will be a great day for the franchise and the fans to revisit this historic venue. Penn is honored to welcome head coach Chip Kelly, his staff, and the Eagles players back to our campus, and we think it will be a fantastic day for everyone involved."

Tickets for the open practice at Franklin Field will be available beginning on July 16 at 10 a.m. at pennathletics.com/eagles. There will be a limit of six tickets per order.

All three of the open practices will remain free of charge and are scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m.
