The Eagles claimed wide receiver Greg Salas off waivers from the New England Patriots on Friday. In order to make room for him on the roster, the team released wide receiver Mardy Gilyard.

Salas (6'1", 209 pounds) caught 27 passes for 264 yards last season for the Rams as a rookie. The 24-year old was drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 draft, after catching 285 passes for 4,345 yards and 26 touchdowns in four season at Hawaii.

Gilyard, who was also drafted by the Rams (4th round, 2010), appeared in six games for the Eagles, but did not record any receptions. On special teams, he returned two punts for 15 yards and recorded three tackles.
