Here's something that might brighten the midwinter doldrums for frustrated Eagles fans: the team isn't raising ticket prices for 2012, the Daily News has learned. All tickets will remain at 2011 levels, Eagles president Joe Banner said today.

"This is something we're thrilled to be able to do," said Banner, who said this is the fourth year in a row prices have been stable. "There aren't many teams who are selling out their stadiums and have a waiting list of more than 40,000 who are doing that. In fact, I would say there aren't any teams like that who haven't raised prices for four years."

Banner said he expects the Birds' average ticket price will rank somewhere around 20th in the 32-team league when all is said and done, around 12th once premium seating is factored in.

Obviously, the move comes against a backdrop of extraordinary fan frustration over the Eagles missing the playoffs with an 8-8 record despite many glamorous offseason moves last year.

"Everything is affected by how the season goes," Banner acknowledged. "But we're happy, in these tough economic times, to be able to do this. We're trying to be as reasonable as we can."

Banner said prices on Eagles tickets through secondary markets last season were near the top of the league, indicating demand would support a price increase, but the team decided it would be better to hold the line.

He said invoices are going out this week.

So those constantly complaining about Vick and Andy aren't those purchasing season tickets.

I think they missed the ball on this one. Now would is the ideal time to raise ticket prices! I mean look at this great sqaud, great front office, and above all great coaching staff. I would pay double to see these guys put together another fantastic 8-8 season. Nickels Banner and Hollywood Lurie are the gold standard of NFL ownership. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. EAGLES!!!!

Hard to beleive they did not raise prices.....They gouge us with a substandard coach, a substandard, GM, (talent selector/mail boy/valet) and a substandard owner (who does not understand the meaning of the words "Completely Unaccpetable" and whose commitment to winning is in the film genre, not the football team., substandard linebackers, substandard safeties, and a substandard DC....Is it possible they are afraid of a revolt.....and I only wish it were so....

"Tough economic times" for who? Certainly not the Eagles. Show me where they made any less money last season. As a season ticket holder who attends most games, I can tell you that his was the roughest season in years to sell tickets. Trust me the mark-ups were minimal, and I had to give away tickets to the Redskins game. The only thing I try to do is make enough money to cover the worthless preseason games.
With three tickets I am almost $600 in the hole by opening day. I have been surrounded by the same people, going back to the Vet days, for more than 20 years. These are as loyal fans as there can be and it is getting economically more difficult for them to attend every game. When the team is as bad as last year, there is no money to be made on the re-sale market. Before anyone gets replaced on the field, please, oh please, get a real team president and general manager. Then the product might justify higher ticket prices.

Of course they do not care about the fans. Raising prices would make many people cancel their season tickets, leaving more tickets open for people so they don't have to get ripped off on StubHub. The Eagles don't care about us, only money, just like the criminal Republican Party.

Joe and Howie should be running a bagel store not an NFL franchise.

People would be "thrilled" if you had won a SB in the last 4 yrs that tix prices have been "stable"......Oh I forgot, you have NEVER won a SB in your time in philly,my bad.Tix prices are about 20th in the league just about where the team is,seems apropriate."Everything is affected by how the season goes" well the season has gone backward 3 seasons in a row(11/5,10/6,8/8)so maybe the prices should go backwards also, how about it joe,ya know "in these tough economic times".When has it ever been tough economic times in the NFL for you joe, please tell me.You are a fraud and a liar, tix holders would revolt if you tried to raise prices with this failing team, coaches especially reid and front office. This kind of BS works for the few fools on here who are suckers but real fans know this organization will NEVER EVER win a SB as currently constructed and I mean from the owner to the pres(thats you joe in case you didn't know)to the GM(fantasy boy)to the HC and staff to half the players on this team.Stop the BS and just shut up till next season because right now irrelavent. No SB for you in 2012 again.LOSER.

Foolish move by the Eagles. The Kool-aiders will pay anything for the right to root for this garbage team. All in Dream Team!

Nowhere in this story does Mr Banner thank the loyal ticket paying fans for sticking with the team in such a mediocre season. Like a birthright to a kingdom is how he and the owner thinks.

The loyal fans, especially the older ones who lived through the Franklin Field and Veterans Stadium days deserve much better then this. Until this ownership is gone, expect more of the same.....
