Eagles, NFC East draft needs

POSTED: Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 12:14 PM

As the NFL draft continues to get closer, here is the first look at our series of team-by-team draft needs, beginning with the Eagles and the rest of the NFC East.

The key is below, with a 1 meaning the position is a low priority and a 5 meaning the position is a high priority.

For the Eagles, outside linebacker and safety top the list as needs.

Key

1 - Count your blessings
2 - Estate planning
3 - Depth issue
4 - Needs to be upgraded ASAP
5 - Call 911

QB RB WR TE OT G/C DE DT OLB ILB CB S ST

So you're trying to tell me that the position needed the very least on any team is QB for Dallas, but Dez Bryant/Miles Austin needs to be upgraded ASAP? And the Eagles have a depth issue at CB? And every DLine in the division is basically in the exact same position?

    Why even bother posting this?

Eagles linebackers and safeties should both be 5's. With the exception of Ryans none of these guys have any business cashing an NFL paycheck.

There should be a category for the need for someone in the FO that can evaluate defensive talent, in which the Eagles would score a 5.

The Tonner is confused by Dallas not needing a QB. Clearly the author has more faith in Romo than does the Tonner. This article has increased the need for a Genny Cream Ale for the Tonner. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing.

actually chaney started to play pretty decent at the end so the othe side is more pressing. and how do the eagles need depth at corner with 3 top corners LOL

Things learned: Domo likes Romo - more than any rational observer; Coloradoeagle should keep on rooting for the Giants; and the Tonner knows as little about beer as he does about football.

yeah i dont generally attack the writers but how ridiculous that dallas' qb situation is one and our wr and qb is 3.and @adamb what has dez bryant ever done in this league to prove hes a starter he averages like 60 catches for 600-700 yds per he was #3 reciever behind austin and laurent robinson.when will people stop annointing dallas players as sooooo talented.if they were theyd have impressive stats or winning record take away ware and ratliff and who do they have?yet somehow nobody can talk about dallas without saying theyrw so talented.

Not a huge fan of Romo, but he is a top 10 QB. Orton is a borderline starter in his own right. Should really be a 2 though. As for the Eagles, who's behind Vick? Edwards and Kafka. 3 sounds generous actually.

I saw an interesting stat the other day concerning Linebackers. From 2001 until 2010, of all the Linebackers taken in the first round of the draft. One was voted to the Pro Bowl. The Ravens, Terrell Suggs, a Defensive End in College.
