Eagles, first-round draft pick Derek Barnett agree to contract

The Eagles agreed to terms with first-round defensive end Derek Barnett Thursday, the team announced.

Barnett, the 14th overall pick in the April draft, agreed to a four-year, $12.8 million deal. As is the case with all first-round picks, the contract has a fifth-year club option.

With Barnett signed, the Eagles now have all eight of their draft picks under contract.

Barnett is the 18th first-rounder to sign. Seven of the 13 players taken ahead of him, including former Temple linebacker Haason Reddick, who was taken right in front of Barnett by Arizona, still are unsigned.
