Draft order set; Eagles with 9 picks

POSTED: Tuesday, March 27, 2012, 12:33 PM

The NFL has announced the complete draft order after awarding 32 compensatory picks to 15 teams yesterday for free-agent losses last year. The Eagles were not among those teams.

Click for the complete draft order in PDF form.

Here is a rundown of the Eagles' nine picks, but you can expect the Eagles to find a way to gather some more on draft weekend. They always do.

The NFL draft is April 26-27-28.

Round 1: 15

Round 2: 46 and 51.

No. 51 was acquired from Arizona in the Kevin Kolb trade.

Round 3: 88

Acquired from Houston in the DeMeco Ryans trade.

Round 4: 114

Round 5: 153

Round 6: 172, 194 and 200

No. 172 from Indianapolis in Winston Justice trade; No. 194 from Denver in Joe Mays trade and No. 200 from New England in Tracy White trade.

Round 7: None

Les Bowen's quick take is that the Eagles will select a defensive tackle in the first round and use their second-round picks on a quarterback and a big wide receiver.

What do you think?

No receiver on our roster is the number1 receiver on the team. Who can vick throw the ball up to and feel confident the receiver will make a play for it. ELi has several go to guys and Rodgers has several. You saw what happen to Brady in the superbowl because he didnt have that go 2 guy when he needed it. Desean and maclin are not physical enough to be the number 1. Draft FLoyd and see what he can do. His physical attributes and the fact that he wont make it past pick20 if we dont take him proofs he is one of the best WR's on the board. The DT's we have now can get get the job done but we cant keep having these 3 and outs just because our current WRs dont know how to fight to get open. I want a superbowl Now!! Draft FLoyd and bring in Plax. That should be enough to get a ring. Maclin,Desean,FLoyd,Plax,Avant,Celek works for me but Reid im sure will see if differently. More of the same. We win games in the regular season. But when teams double up in the playoffs on our small non physical receivers what happens?

I'd still like to see us grab Luke, make the LB position a position of strength and have a guy that not only can develop and flourish working with Demeco , but can also be insurance if he goes down. I know people are saying we should go DT but I loved Landri this year, dude brought it and got a lot of pressure.. I wouldn't mind grabbing Floyd, he makes a lot of sense for this offense- don't see us going for him tho. Any info on the QB's available in the 2nd? We have to get a young guy to develop and Tannehill is gone by the 7th pick....

1st rd best available player regardless of position except RB. 2nd rd QB, best player available regardless of position. Drafting for a need is a mistake in the first 60 picks. You take the highest graded player. At 15, there is no debate about it. If a player is rated a blue chip prospect but doesn't fit a need you don't skip him to take a guy at a spot you need who has a grade of future starter. There are only so many blue chippers and they aren't spread equally across positions.

How about this for an idea? Draft all LBs and safeties. Maybe a couple of them will actually be able to play?

I'm amazed how this team never quite seems to fill that last hole. The one year that they did, was the first TO year and what happened? Super Bowl. I honestly believe that this organization has a "we can make do at certain positions to draft depth at already solid positions mentality" and that they believe that this is the best way to win 10 games every year.

I'm not saying that's the goal, but they're clearly never "all in." For example, they carried over nearly $11m in cap space from last year, when remember -- "They were all in." Anybody think that $11m could of perhaps gotten a safety and a LB that might have made a difference in whether they made the playoffs or not last year? And frankly, the same thing appears to be happening this year, when at last check they had at least $17m in cap space plus the money that they'll undoubtedly free up from trading Asante. I don't know if you've noticed, but there's not much to spend $20m in cap space on left in free agency. Sure they could front load LeSean's deal, but that's the same thing as carrying the cap space into 2013.

You want to talk about a team that's all in? Look at the hockey team. Those guys are insane -- constantly trading away all of their draft picks and constantly pushing the envelope on the cap. Frankly, I just don't see the same sense of urgency from the Eagles.

I think that we will trade down in the 1st round to 20th or 21st pick and recover the 4th round pick that we traded for Ryans. Then we pick either Mark Barron, or Dre Kirkpatrick.

We need to get some high motor guys. Small but fast.

They need to make this draft count by getting the most talented on the board at the time of their pick.Good luck. But knowing they will waste three fourths of the picks on some guys who look good on paper but is not a killer at heart. That is the Roseman stamp.

You've gotta be kidding - Number 1 has to be - Luke KuechlyNO ONE ELSE!!! They need linebackers. they got what looks like a good "one" on a trade. Did I just say "one"??? Yes they've got one. Gotta get Luke. Trade one or 2 of the many 6 rounders they have with their number 1 to move up and get him. LLLLLLLLLLLUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCC!!! (HTML deleted)

Round #1: Fletcher Cox, DT (If we can I would trade back and get another pick) He has a high upside and fits the defensive scheme
Round #2: Alfonso Denard, CB Physical corner who is good in run support and good in coverage
Round #2: Lavonte David, LB Tackling machine who is great in coverage. I really think he translates better to a Pro Bowl type SS because of his size 6'1 233...
Round #3: Bobby Wagner LB.. He would be a tremendous upgrade at the SAM. Stellar performer in College and at the East West game.
Round #4: Russell Wilson, QB. Has everything except he's small like Vick. Not as athletic but great tools for Andy's offense.
Round #5: Michal Egnew, TE 6'5 252... great recieving tight end... The league is about trends and New England started the two tight end trend... Egnew gives us a legit red zone threat.
Round #6: David Molk, C Michigan
    Round #6:Tauren Poole, RB Tennesse
Round #6: Danny Trevathan, LB Kentucky
