Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis returned to his home state of Utah for a charity golf tournament and proclaimed himself fully healthy to play this season.

Curtis missed the beginning of last season following sports hernia surgery and then missed the post-draft minicamp because of a followup surgery in April. He was a limited participant in the last group of OTAs, saying he felt strong at the start of practices but the area would get fatigued.

"I'm 100 percent this year," Curtis told ABC4 in Provo. "I'm feeling good. I should be ready to roll."

Curtis, who turns 31 next month, also is suddenly the graybeard among the wide receivers. He knows that he is not guaranteed as prominent a role as he enjoyed when he signed as a free agent 2 years ago, penciled in right away as the No. 1 wideout.

"I'm trying to keep the hair long to stay kind of young to throw off the front office to think I'm not aging," joked Curtis, heading into his seventh NFL season.

Curtis also talked about making it all the way to the NFL and his deep Utah roots.

"I feel like I do belong," he said. "You talk to me 15 years ago I was just trying to get on the field in high school ...

"This is home for me. This is where I'm from. I always admired guys coming out of Utah in professional sports so I take a lot of pride in that."

So that explains the dropped passes last season

Remember how well he played in 07 when he was healthy? I do think he and Jackson will help each other because there's a lot of speed on the field. It'll give Maclin time to learn the offense. If I remember correctly, Maclin was just a sophmore. He's very young and may not adapt as quickly as Jackson, who made some bonehead plays from time to time.

He was great as the #3 WR on St. Louis. Not a #1. Now he can be great again as the #3.

If Maclin and Jackson along with the new tight end can stay healthy and develop, Curtis can be that guy who doesn't get full coverage and may be a dangerous weapon.

Curtis starts at no. 2 receiver slot. We'll see if Maclin can overthrow him, but I think it will take him a few weeks.

KC is not fast. This can be seen any time the defense plays man coverage. Let's face it Curtis couldn't get separated if he hired a divorce lawyer. I'd be willing to give up KC, S Brown and a sixth or seventh round draft pick for B Marshall. Hopefully J Maclin lives up to the hype.

Um this isn't much of a blog. The article adds nothing to the title line, you could have reported this with one sentence.

um..."pick up the slack for when Reggie Brown gets cut"? What slack? You mean we need to sign someone to be deactivated on gameday?

Kevi Curtis is a class act and he will contribute big time this year. Funny how a non call on pass interfernece can turn you to a guy who always drops passes in this town.

He will be the starter till the 4th game, then Maclin will come in. With that being said, having him as your third or 4th recievers show's how much we have upgraded that position!

CURTIS IS THE BEST RECEIVER ON THE TEAM! STOP WITH THE NONSENSE!

Jason Avant will be the surprise story of the year. Maclin will make an impact, just not this year. Reggie Brown will start out like a house on fire and fade as the year goes on. DeSean, Curtis, Baskett, will be steady and have their moments. Celeck has a "breakout" season and comes up big in the red zone. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

It doesn't matter if there is pass interference in a crucial situation. You step up and find a way to make the play anyway. I'm not a Curtis hater, but I'm just sayin'.

I'm glad Curtis is 100%. It's going to be fun watching these guys. If the defense can keep the opposing teams below 21 pts a game, it will be a great year.

Provided Curtis truly is a 100% healthy, that can only mean good things for the birds. His speed and good hands combined with Jackson as a second year player then add Maclin, we should have a dangerous receiving corps.

Interesting thing i read in the Utah article that this article was based on, "Now that Donovan McNabb is signed, Philadelphia is definitely a Super Bowl favorite this season". It really is amazing that so many people in this town talk so much trash and belittle our QB when every time you read an article or hear an opinion about McNabb from the national press, they give him nothing but respect. They watch the same games we do, evaluate the same roster we do, yet their end analysis is that we have a special player at the QB position. I guess the only difference is they aren't poisoned by our local media and the knuckleheads that listen to them.

aintezbeingreen, you are correct. I live in Giant territory and have many friends in the "opposition". They all shake their head in disbelief at the nonsensical rantings by "the few, the loud, the morons" that post here. To a man they all say Eagle fans don't know how lucky they are. I guess they see the numerous beat downs by DM as proof. Can't say I disagree.

For some odd reason, for once in a long time I actually like the receivers the Eagles have. It maybe to early to say, but hopefully they can put the rest of talk of any receiver available in the league and the Eagles being interested. Seems they are interested in every available one, but never pick them up. I do like the idea of Curtis being the #3 ahead of Avant and Baskett. Sorry Reggie Brown, liked you while you were here, but your time seems to be at the end, I heard Denver could use you??

I agree with you aintezbeingreen about DMAC, he has his moments for making bad plays, but then again, who does not??? Anybody who wants Mcnabb out, please tell who the Eagles can get that is around, that is equal or better?? any takers????

KC is fast!! What the heck was that dude thinking. Curtis is probably in the top 6 rocketers on the team. Reggie is looking good in practice and I say that the best people should start. Let us wait for training camp. I pretty much know that djack will be number 1.

eagles could have (4) #l receivers if the QB would practice throwing at the hanging tire instead of the grasshoppers!

Curtis is quick, dependable...with decent YAC. He is not a no. 1...but isn't paid like it either. Eagles are lucky to have him.

Unpretentious, your comment is borderline ridiculous. When did Curtis become slow? I'm pretty sure he is not hitting the 4.35 he had in the combine anymore, but he certainly didn't look slow two years ago. Is the "the phiilies won..." a new name for lonewolf?

Just reiterating what someone else said.. Curtis is the best WR on this team. DeSean Jackson is right there with him and then there's the rest of the gang. I think there's a chance that Maclin will win the #3 spot, but Avant and his good hands might not allow that.

Flyeredup, like your outlook, I think you are closer to what will happen then the rest of our fellow bloggers. Many fans of the birds will never say we have a good receiving core because we don't have flash, no Bolden now receivers! I agree with you, we should get good seasons from Jackson and Curtis, Avant over the middle - sweet! Celek will surprize all of us, some quality time for Maclin, hey, it all looks good to me!!!

i agree with flerdup.....avant is going to be a beast this year but i think Baskett is the odd man out....they have enough safties where a wr wont have to play S teams so i think it will be curtis and d jax starters avant slot brown and j mac as the package players until maclin is ready but watch celek/ingram best TE combo in a while.....big year for the whole group and team.,....get the SHIP men!!!

Looking at our WR corps, we lack size, but we are very skilled and quick. If Big Red can get Maclin and Jackson the ball in key spots to exploit their speed, look out.

Yo. Don't look now but the Eagles may actually average more the one touchdown this year! They may actually, believe it or not, score some touchdowns in the Red Zone - yikes! We may all be stunned into silence...
