Eagles wide receiver Kevin Curtis returned to his home state of Utah for a charity golf tournament and proclaimed himself fully healthy to play this season.

Curtis missed the beginning of last season following sports hernia surgery and then missed the post-draft minicamp because of a followup surgery in April. He was a limited participant in the last group of OTAs, saying he felt strong at the start of practices but the area would get fatigued.

"I'm 100 percent this year," Curtis told ABC4 in Provo. "I'm feeling good. I should be ready to roll."

Curtis, who turns 31 next month, also is suddenly the graybeard among the wide receivers. He knows that he is not guaranteed as prominent a role as he enjoyed when he signed as a free agent 2 years ago, penciled in right away as the No. 1 wideout.

"I'm trying to keep the hair long to stay kind of young to throw off the front office to think I'm not aging," joked Curtis, heading into his seventh NFL season.

Curtis also talked about making it all the way to the NFL and his deep Utah roots.

"I feel like I do belong," he said. "You talk to me 15 years ago I was just trying to get on the field in high school ...

"This is home for me. This is where I'm from. I always admired guys coming out of Utah in professional sports so I take a lot of pride in that."

Remember how well he played in 07 when he was healthy? I do think he and Jackson will help each other because there's a lot of speed on the field. It'll give Maclin time to learn the offense. If I remember correctly, Maclin was just a sophmore. He's very young and may not adapt as quickly as Jackson, who made some bonehead plays from time to time.

He was great as the #3 WR on St. Louis. Not a #1. Now he can be great again as the #3.

If Maclin and Jackson along with the new tight end can stay healthy and develop, Curtis can be that guy who doesn't get full coverage and may be a dangerous weapon.

Curtis starts at no. 2 receiver slot. We'll see if Maclin can overthrow him, but I think it will take him a few weeks.

KC is not fast. This can be seen any time the defense plays man coverage. Let's face it Curtis couldn't get separated if he hired a divorce lawyer. I'd be willing to give up KC, S Brown and a sixth or seventh round draft pick for B Marshall. Hopefully J Maclin lives up to the hype.

Um this isn't much of a blog. The article adds nothing to the title line, you could have reported this with one sentence.

um..."pick up the slack for when Reggie Brown gets cut"? What slack? You mean we need to sign someone to be deactivated on gameday?

Kevi Curtis is a class act and he will contribute big time this year. Funny how a non call on pass interfernece can turn you to a guy who always drops passes in this town.

He will be the starter till the 4th game, then Maclin will come in. With that being said, having him as your third or 4th recievers show's how much we have upgraded that position!

Jason Avant will be the surprise story of the year. Maclin will make an impact, just not this year. Reggie Brown will start out like a house on fire and fade as the year goes on. DeSean, Curtis, Baskett, will be steady and have their moments. Celeck has a "breakout" season and comes up big in the red zone. That's my story and I'm stickin to it.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying. Les came to Philadelphia and the Daily News from Charlotte in 1983. In the intervening years, he has pretty much lost track of NASCAR, and his accent. He, his wife Barbara, and their two sons live in Haddon Township, New Jersey.
