Cowboys not America's Team; Vick still unpopular

The Dallas Cowboys are no longer "America's Team," but are the most hated and Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has not won over a large percentage of NFL fans, according to a survey released by Public Policy Polling in Raleigh, N.C.
In trying to determine America's most popular team, the poll listed nine choices. The Packers are the favorite team of 22% of respondents, while 11% prefer the Cowboys, 8% each the Chicago Bears, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh Steelers, 7% the New Orleans Saints, 6% the New England Patriots, 4% the Washington Redskins, and 2% the New York Jets. 24% root for someone else or are not sure. The Eagles were not among the nine teams.
The Cowboys are America’s most hated team. Dallas is the least favorite team of 22%. The next challenger, the Bears (11%), followed by the Packers (8%), Pats and Redskins (7%), Steelers (6%), Giants and Jets (4%), and Saints (1%).
The survey also looked at the favorable and unfavorable ratings of nine of the top quarterbacks in the league.
Vick is by far the least favorite among the group at 26 percent. He is followed by Ben Roethlisberger (15%), Eli Manning (11%), Tom Brady (8%), and Tony Romo (6%).
Tim Tebow is America’s favorite right now (15%), followed closely by the Mannings (14% for Eli and 12% for Peyton), 10% for each Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Brady, 6% for Vick, and 4% for Big Ben and Romo.
Asked whether they had a favorable or unfavorable opinion of Vick, 24 percent said favorable, 43 percent said unfavorable and 23 percent that did not know or had no opinion.
As for Rodgers, 53% have no opinion of him, 39% see him favorably, and only 8% unfavorably—strong numbers, but not compared to Peyton Manning’s 51-9, Brees’ 46-6, Tebow’s 50-15, or Eli Manning’s 44-12. He does best Brady’s 35-17, Tony Romo’s 23-27 and Roethlisberger’s 20-31.

Vick is again voted the most hated player in America...WOW...only dumb posters here like Tyrone and the pizza delivery boy(tpizza)who sniff Vick's jock defend him....LOL.— frank105- Side winder, Kolb is like 1-5, his backup is 6-2 this season for ARZ. I think we can put the debate on if Kolb is a good QB to rest.
Also Reggie White is no high character guy, never a criminal, but a clear holy roller, who made absurd statements like "god told me to go to green bay" which must mean his god is the dollar bill. and also blasted the team, city, and fans when he left Philly. - Personally it is an insult to the fans of the 31 other NFL teams to constantly claim the Cowboys are America's team. As far as the percentage that do not care for Vick. That is a no brainer considering his past, although I don't understand the purpose of the surveys in general.— PhillyFanSouth

- Historical note: Most of the dog comments are simply not factual. He allowed a Gang he grew up with to use a house he owned in their rural VA hometown. They basically did what they pleased and Vick didn't have the sense/nerve to say No and evict them, so he was convicted of Bankrolling this little backwoods clan. The facts indicate nothing else.
He has the support of PETA- who is always looking for additional donations. Childfund.org is also an Excellent charity trying to save millions of impoverished children. In his plea it is a formal statement of both fact and public record that he personally drowned, hung, crushed, and buried dogs and found amusement by matching up pets with trained fighting dogs.
