Defense is key, on the surface adds up to a good one this year.

What a joke. I thought the problem was undersized linebackers who couldn't stop the run, 2 all-pro CBs but 1 can't play man-to-man and the other can't play zone, a QB who plays recklessly and as a result gets hurt and turns the ball over, a prima donna WR and a failure to commit to the running game despite having one of the best RBs in the league. But as long as they talk to each other, everything will be ok.

Isn't it nice to know, doesn't it just warm your heart to know that the Giants are about to win their 4th Super Bowl but if the Eagles had managed to win 1 more game this year, the Giants wouldn't have made the playoffs at all.

The key for the Eagles defense is TALENT. We don't have enough NFL talent on the defensive side of the ball. Never mind the fact that Soupy Sales is our defensive coordinator. Teams in this league win with talent and we don't have nearly enough of it.

About Bob Ford
Bob Ford has been writing about Philadelphia sports since 1981, and is still trying to figure it all out. A former beat writer covering the Phillies and the 76ers, Ford became a general sports columnist for the Inquirer in 2003, following in and occasionally falling in the deep footsteps of Bill Lyon, Frank Dolson and many distinguished others. He comes to the Philly.com blogosphere after award-winning success as designer/editor of the fabulous Pen & Pencil Club softball blog. Likes: Palestra, inside-the-park home runs, sunny days. Dislikes: phony people, cloudy days, rewrites.
