Jeff Maehl, who had been filling in for Riley Cooper with the first team, was also out of practice on Friday. Like Cooper, Maehl was wearing a boot on his right foot.
With Cooper and Maehl out, Ifeanyi Momah played with the starters. Jeremy Maclin was active in early practice, but wasn't a participant in team drills later. He was seen having his leg worked on by trainers. He was unavailable after practice.
Riley Cooper, who has been out of practice since Monday, has been wearing a boot on his right leg. But Chip Kelly said Friday that his injury is not serious.
"He's got a foot injury," Kelly said before the Eagles practiced at the NovaCare Complex. "It's just a preventive thing. He should be back in a couple of days."
Cooper apparently injured his foot on the first day of training camp last Saturday. Jeff Maehl has been playing in his receiver spot with the first team. Asked about his depth at receiver and how much comfort he would have if one of his starters were to go down, Kelly said he wasn't concerned.
"I don't know about that because we're not going to worry about that," Kelly said. "I like our wide receiver depth on Friday. We have enough guys to run routes. I never get involved with what's our depth here, what's our depth there. I think the biggest decision we're doing right now is making evaluations of who is going to make the team."
Cooper and Jeremy Maclin are the projected outside receiver starters. Brad Smith is running with the ones in the slot, but rookie Jordan Matthews is expected to be there eventually. Rookie Josh Huff will likely be on the 53-man roster. Smith, Maehl, Arrelious Benn and Ifeanyi Momah could be fighting for the last few roster spots at the position.
Kelly said that Momah, who was cut before last season, has made progress in one year.
Safety Earl Wolff wasn't a full participant in practice on Thursday.
"He was a little sore," Kelly said. "He was supposed to go today."
Kelly said he didn't know where Wolff was sore. The safety was running with the first team on Wednesday after spending the first several days of camp with the second team behind Nate Allen.
Linebacker Jake Knott was not suited up in pads for the start of Friday's practice. Along with Cooper, running back Chris Polk (hamstring) and center Julian Vandervelde (back) remain out.
