Chad Johnson saga continues

Although Sports Illustrated's Peter King is no friend of Eagletarian, we know that interest remains high on the issue of the Eagles and a top-flight receiver.

King talked to Bengals coach Marvin Lewis, who is insisting that the Bengals' stance on Chad Johnson's contract demands will not change. Writes King:

And they're digging in with Chad Johnson, who says he wants out of Cincinnati after playing two seasons in a 2006 renegotiated contract with four years left (at $3 million, $4.5 million, $5 million, $6 million.

"We've made it clear what the stance is,'' Lewis said. "It's not going to change, today or in August, whenever. You cannot allow a player to get up on his high chair with four years left on his contract and demand to get out. If you do that, you set a terrible example for the rest of your team, and we won't do that.''

We will see how that goes in Cincinnati, but even if the Bengals move Lewis that does not mean he is coming to Philly.

Also, in scanning around the Web, we noticed a report in Dallas that says the Cowboys will be the team featured this summer on HBO's Hard Knocks series. Just what Philly fans want to see: more TV time for TO, Romo and Jerry Jones.

He's a typical million-dollar crybaby from the ghetto.

Roy Williams or Anquan Boldin. Offer up Lito and the #1 for next year that we got from Carolina, or some combination. Chad is another TO turd.

I don't want him either. If the Eagles could just take a page from the Flyer's playbook and play inspired team football with different players stepping up each week to make heroic plays to win...the Eagles could win it all.

"Chad is another TO turd.".......Um, last I checked, the only time in almost three decades the Iggles got to the SB was with a turd.

Eagles will indeed win it all if they keep Lito and play a 4-3 and a 4-2 defense. This team is stacked. They have arguably the best running back in the NFC. They have a mid career proven QB that has experience but needs to stop being the class clown and get serious. They have a three TE set that is better than any other teams three TE's. They have the best defensive secondary bar none. A good O-Line A good D-line Young playmaking LB's The wideouts are overlooked, but Curtis had over a thousand yards receiving last year and Reggie Brown made big catches and is getting better every year. And lastly they really improved in their special teams. I am thinking Super Bowl run here.

LJL- Lest you forget, the Birds played every game in the playoffs except for the Supe without T.O. Not that he didn't play a great game, he did, but I'm just sayin'. I think Chad is cut from the same cloth though, and they can do without that.

Pgf1400, man you live in a fantasy world. I suppose you agree the Sixers don't need a number 1 either to be a contender...

ROCKIN ROB YOUR RIGHT ON POINT MY FRIEND... THIS TEAM IS THE DEEPEST TEAM WE'VE HAD IN A FEW YEARS... NOTHING LESS THEN A SB APPEARENCE THIS YEAR WILL DO... WE ARE UPGRADED AT EVERY POSITION EXCEPT WR BUT CONSIDERING THE WR'S ARE A YEAR OLDER, WISER, STRONGER, ALONG WITH THE TE'S DEVELOPING AS WELL AS ADDING LORENZO BOOKER AND DESHAWN JACKSON AS A PLAYMAKERS ON ST AND IN THE PASSING GAME, MAN WE SHOULD BE IN PRETTY GOOD SHAPE THIS YEAR... NOW TRASNLATING ALL THE TALENT ON TO THE FIELD IS ANOTHER THING... BUT I THINK THEY WILL BE READY TO PLAY... DAWK, RUNYAN, TRE' THOMAS, DONOVAN, WESTBROOK, AND THE REST OF THE LEADERS ON THIS TEAM WONT ALLOW ANYONE TO SLACK... OH AND ALL THE $HIT TALKING ABOUT CHAD JOHNSON WITH ALL THE THUG AND HE'S FROM THE GHETTO REMARKS ARE UNCALLED FOR... IF WE HAD HIM YOU JOKERS WOULD BE RIDING HIS WOOD SO DONT ACT LIKE THE MAN CAN PLAY THE GAME AND BE ONE OF THE BEST AT IT IF WE HAD HIM!!!

Where is all this depth? We have three corners, one of which is determined not to play here? Where is all this other depth? Man, this is why I love message boards and blogs...
