Is there really a Kafka-esque movement out there? That's absurd unless the two other guys can't go. Surely his head is worth no more than Vince Young's arms, legs and athletic ability. Beyond that, a good performance or two out of Young will reap rewards from next year's QB suitors.
Kafka's arm isn't even Montana-like. Nice performance but how many times does this fan base have to put stock in "the next one" and be wrong before they stop this nonsense? Ollie Brown
The Giants may have 100 yds rushing--in the first quarter. The dreamteam is a joke. Reid has never drafted or signed a great linebacker and has no clue how important they are to stopping the run. Vick needed to score 35 points just to have a chance against the Falcons and the Giants defense will be trouble for any replacement QB. farley
A sound head is not that bad, as we all could watch when Mr. Vick gave away the game a handful of stupid plays. VY could surely do even "better" in that respect.Kafka will be ok, he needs to be supported by the fans in his reliefer role. AachenEagle
What? No Dumbwolf whining about Klob? jjthree
Wow guys way to shut the kid down. Have some birds faith before a big divisional game.
I personally like what i saw from him during the preseason (even though its just that preseason). Good eye on the entire fiels, he hussled when he had to hussle, and made good judgement on where tio throw the ball.
I say get over the hate and give the kid some wings. NEPA birdman

Kafka looked surprisingly decent on Sunday. How that translates into a full game as a starter, I don't know, but if he can stay away from turning the ball over, he gives the Eagles a chance to win. SteveS11
Slow and plodding??? He set a QB rushing record in the Big 10, also he's had 2 years to study the playbook. VY is still nicked up keep him in reserve if needed. No Ids
Andy doesn't like QB's that get rid of the ball fast, are accurate, have a completion percentage above 60%, and that can read defenses.....IF he did...he would have kept KOLB and helped McNabb with a running game.

That appears to be the case,RealizticFan. As much as I like Vick as a person, I'm just not completely sold on him as the franchise QB because of those tangibles/intangibles you cited. I like Kafka's style. His apparent ability to read the defensive alignment, make a quick decision, and make a accurate throw for a completion on a consistent or fairly consistent basis thus develop an offensive rhythm in order to sustain a drive. I saw him do it in preseason and was impressed even though it was watered down and vanilla and against second and third stringers. He seemed to continue that consistency Sunday AGAINST ONES and I was even more impressed.
Nothing frustrates, or tires, a defense more than a QB who beats the blitz with correct reads, is decisive, and makes quick and accurate throws. Ergo, I'd like to see more of him statrting with the ones. Unfortunately , as I mentioned previously, when Kafka gets REALLY good, Reid'll trade him to another team for high draft picks and a few washed up players.

Kafka was a winner at Northwestern & can put the ball right in the receivers hands.. ACCURATELY & QUICKLY !! Just like Garcia & Detmer did for the Birds when they were called on to do so as a BACKUP / HIS ROLE ! Any one that watches THE BIRDS KNEW VICK WAS GOING TO GET HURT AT SOME POINT .. BUT SOO EARLY ?? :(
He is more then capable to get the job done :) suptom
