Bradley a "stretch" to play Sunday, Reid says
It's looking bad for linebacker Stewart Bradley. Andy Reid said it would be a "stretch" for Bradley to play against the Packers, contradicting Bradley's comments Sunday that he was "confident" he could play.
If the team had to play today, Bradley would not be able to go, Reid said.
"He hasn't been able to do anything where he applies pressure," on his injured elbow, Reid said.
Bradley dislocated his left elbow Dec. 12 against the Cowboys and has not played since.
Rookie Jamar Chaney would start in Bradley's place.
"Chaney's doing well, yes," Reid said. "On the other hand, I will tell you that if (Bradley's) ready to play, he'll play. He's just not ready now."
Reid said it would be possible that both Bradley and Chaney play against Packers, if Bradley is healthy. That might leave Chaney at middle linebacker and the larger Bradley at strong side linebacker. Or the Eagles could go with Bradley's experience as the signal caller in the middle and try the speedy Chaney elsewhere, at either the weak side (in place of Ernie Sims) or strong side (in place of Moise Fokou). One or the other could also be used in limited packages.
Guard Max Jean-Gilles also couldn't practice if he had to today. Reid wouldn't say if Jean-Gilles, the only starting offensive lineman to play Sunday, will be ready for the playoffs.
"It's just a matter of days here, to see how he does," Reid said. "There's a chance he makes it by Wednesday," when practice resumes.

- I have no idea how Bradley played the SAM position at Nebraska. I don't think I've seen him cover a tight end all year
- There is a HUGE difference in covering a Texas Longhorn TE and a Houston Texan TE. Bradley isn't a bad MLB. I suspect there will be a lot of nickel packages used against the Packers. pking222
Big deal. The guy is a total fabrication. Organizational and media. Wake me up the next time he makes a big play. JLH
Yeah right, and bigplay LB's grow on trees. But it doesn't matter, because this defense never had a big play linebacker and never will. But wait. Maybe Vick could play MLB, when the other team has the ball? AachenEagle

He's dreaming if he thinks at 70% he's as good as a healthy Chaney. With or without Bradley, 1000:1 we make the Super Bowl this year. Focus on rehab and stay on the sideline until you're actually ready. tacklinjoe
need to draft 2 ol / 3 lb / 2 cb / 2 s .. 9 picks. 2 top free agent signings , fire mcdermot , trade kk for 2 picks 2&4. thats 2 more picks to fill needs. 11 picks total! GO EAGLES!!!!!!!!! bill poore- good, we are better off without his "genius" "cerebral" middle linebacker leadership in the middle. the guy is average and getting injured all the time is really a great quality you like to have in a 3rd round draft pick. Another stretch of a pick by Andy on a guy that had a previously blown ACL in college and thats the one LB they actually use a decent draft pick on. should have taken him in 5th and gotten a CB with that pick instead. or an 0-lineman.
Chaney is better, thats all that matters - keep him on the field! wavydavy2000
