Is End Near? Bradley Gets 2nd Interview

POSTED: Monday, January 14, 2013, 9:14 PM

Is Gus Bradley the right choice for the Eagles?
Yes
No

The Eagles Monday night confirmed that Seattle defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is coming in Tuesday for a second interview to be the team's head coach, amid signs that the process could be near a conclusion, with Bradley the front-runner.

Bradley, 46, led the Seattle defense to a first-place ranking in points allowed and fourth place in yards. He spoke with Eagles officials Saturday in Atlanta, the day before the Seahawks' 30-28 playoff loss to the Falcons.

Bradley will be the first of the 11 identified Eagles candidates to be brought back for a second interview, and many people around the league, including players, expect him to be hired to succeed Andy Reid.

“He’s the best teacher I’ve ever been around,” Seattle coach Pete Carroll said this season. “He’s so thorough, so thoughtful, and he’ll go to such lengths to find ways to make sense of the information so the guys can understand it in practical ways.

“It doesn’t matter how good we teach. It’s how well they learn. I think that connection is really clear with Gus. He’s great at it.”

We need someone new, not a retread. Picking a new coach is always a crapshoot, but a young guy with new ideas beats a crusty Andy Reid any day, at least in my book. Gus is a must!

If this dude is hired and announces MM is his OC, the mess Greedy Gretchen will be cleaning up is the Tonner's head exploding. And not the one she's used to wiping off her dome.

We need another Buddy Ryan, my friend. Enough with the nonsensical, NFL politically-correct "don't hit the QB or WRs, because they make our money." You might as well have the cheerleaders play. The NFL (and especially the Eagles), are the latest bunch of "touchy-feely" wimps (with shoulder pads and a "number" on their backs on national TV)representing a dying culture. The Eagles are a fair representation of their owner. Go back to making loser movies, Jeffy. You have nothing to offer otherwise, except mommy's money.

I can live with Bradley; my preferred top 4 were Jon Gruden, then Ken Wisenhunt (once I heard they interviewed him today), Bill Obrien, and then Bradley. This could be a blessing, who knows?

I wonder if Ken Whisenhunt would come in as the offensive coordinator! I think they will discuss offensive philosophy and possible OC's!!!

Obviously, none of us can know how well this guy would do, but he's got all the hallmarks of the sort of coaches that have had the most success over the last decade, young hungry coordinators. One things for sure, he would put the defense back in order.

We don't need bonehead conservative coordinators. His prevent defense cost the Seahawks a trip to the NFC championship game. My vote is still for G. Cobb.

He must've done something big at Fort Lewis because he hasn't been on any successful teams in the NFL. He was part of Jon Gruden's defensive staff that imploded in December of 2008 getting Gruden fired and he did figure out how to stop RG III after he couldn't walk anymore.

Lurie, hide Roseman in your closet until the deal is done. You know which one. The one you haven't come out of yet.

That's just wrong...you should be ashamed of yourself. Now the Tonner's going to have to replace his Gennt Cream Ale covered keyboard.
