THE EAGLES signed first-round pick Nelson Agholor yesterday to a four-year contract. The Baltimore Sun reported it was for $9.377 million, including a $5.079 million signing bonus, as per the terms of the 2011 NFL collective bargaining agreement.

Agholor, a wide receiver from USC, is the fourth of the Birds' six picks to sign. All six will start a weekend rookie camp today, along with the team's 16 undrafted free agents, six guys from last year's practice squad, and 11 tryout players who will be seeking contracts. That last group, announced yesterday, includes three Villanova players - tackle Vince Kowalski, running back Kevin Monangai and safety Joe Sarnese, along with Delaware wideout Mike Johnson.

The Eagles released former Oregon wide receiver Will Murphy, who spent the past two years on the practice squad. They re-signed defensive end Frank Mays, an undrafted rookie last year from Florida A&M who was cut during the preseason. Mays has been playing for the Tampa Bay Storm, of the Arena Football League.

The Eagles are down to eight former Oregon Ducks on their 90-man roster.
