Eagles work out quarterbacks Pryor and Lewis

The Eagles worked out free-agent quarterbacks Terrelle Pryor and Thad Lewis last week, an NFL source said. Pryor, who spent his first three NFL seasons with the Raiders, was traded to the Seahawks in April and was released in August. The 6-foot-4, 233-pounder wants to continue to play quarterback, but he could have a better chance to land with a team as a wide receiver.

Pryor, who spent his first three NFL seasons with the Raiders, was traded to the Seahawks in April and was released in August. The 6-foot-4, 233-pounder wants to continue to play quarterback, but he could have a better chance to land with a team as a wide receiver.

The Eagles also worked out the 6-2, 220-pound Lewis, who has four seasons of NFL experience as a backup, in August. Pryor is a dual-threat quarterback. Lewis is more of a pocket passer.

The Eagles have only two healthy quarterbacks on their 53-man roster - Mark Sanchez and Matt Barkley - with Nick Foles sidelined with a broken collarbone. Foles is expected to be out for at least six to eight weeks. If his recovery takes longer, the Eagles may decide to put him on season-ending injured reserve.

If Foles were to go to IR, the Eagles could sign G.J. Kinne off the practice squad. Pryor and Lewis have practice-squad eligibility.
