The Eagles have 16 new faces on their roster. Here's a look at those offseason acquisitions:

Free agents

S Malcolm Jenkins - The Eagles' biggest free-agent signing did not arrive with the fanfare of some of the other safeties on the market, but his versatility and leadership have helped upgrade the secondary.

CB Nolan Carroll - Signed to provide depth at cornerback and contribute on special teams, Carroll has allowed the Eagles to play more dime packages.

S Chris Maragos - The former Seahawk bolstered the Eagles' special teams and already has four special-teams tackles and a touchdown off a punt block.

LB Bryan Braman - He has three special-teams tackles.

QB Mark Sanchez - The former Jets starter excelled in the preseason in Chip Kelly's offense and is insurance in case Nick Foles gets hurt.

C David Molk - After sitting out for a season, the undersize center signed with the Eagles in January. He has improved each week as a starter replacing Jason Kelce.

OL Andrew Gardner - Gardner started twice at right tackle, but he's better providing depth.

Acquired in trades

RB Darren Sproles - The multidimensional running back has thrived in Philadelphia, where he has four touchdowns and leads the league in punt-return yards.

K Cody Parkey - Acquired in the preseason, the rookie kicker has made 12 of 13 field goals and has improved the kickoff unit with his touchbacks.

Draft picks

LB Marcus Smith - The Eagles like his athleticism, but Smith struggled in the preseason and has played inside linebacker for much of the regular season.

WR Jordan Matthews - The second-round pick has been steady in the slot for the Eagles with 23 catches for 226 yards and two touchdowns.

WR Josh Huff - The former Oregon standout missed time because of a shoulder injury, but he will take on a bigger role on offense and special teams as the season progresses.

DB Jaylen Watkins - He has been active for just two weeks this season, but he excelled on special teams last week. He hasn't played on defense yet.

DL Taylor Hart - He has been inactive each game this season, stuck behind Brandon Bair as a backup two-gap defensive end.

DL Beau Allen - The seventh-round pick won the job as the backup nose tackle over the summer and has played 20 percent of the defensive snaps.

Rookie free agent

TE Trey Burton - The versatile tight end has been a major factor on special teams and served as an emergency running back in Chris Polk's absence.
