Wearing No. 11 puts D-Jax in good company

The No. 10 that new Redskins receiver DeSean Jackson wore with the Eagles was taken, so he'll wear No. 11.

DESEAN JACKSON will wear No. 11 with the Redskins next season. The No. 10 he wore with the Eagles was already in use by quarterback Robert Griffin III.

There have been some decent athletes, both locally and nationally, who have worn No. 11.

Prominent players on Philly teams:

Eagles: Tommy

Thompson and Norm Van Brocklin.

Phillies: Jimmy Rollins, Clay Dalrymple, Deron Johnson, Tim McCarver.

Flyers: Kevin Dineen, Ron Flockhart, Don Saleski.

Sixers: Manute Bol, Jrue Holiday, Caldwell Jones, Bob McAdoo, Leo Rautins (sorry, couldn't resist).

Prominent players nationally:

NFL: Phil Simms, Larry Fitzgerald, Drew Bledsoe, Mark Rypien.

NHL: Mark Messier and Gilbert Perreault.

NBA, Isiah Thomas, Elvin Hayes, Yao Ming.

MLB: George Bell, Chuck Knoblauch, Barry Larkin, Edgar Martinez, Manny Mota, Hal McRae, Carl Hubbell, Luis Aparicio.

Prime Time opinion

Deion Sanders says he knows why quarterback Johnny Manziel rubs people the wrong way.

"See, the reason people won't accept Johnny Football is because Johnny Football has ghetto tendencies," Sanders said on the "Tom Joyner Morning Show," yesterday. " I love Johnny Football."

When asked, Sanders explained what he meant by "ghetto tendencies."

"Because he was successful, he made it, and he let you all know he made it, and he was cocky, he was flamboyant, and he let you know," Sanders said.

Roland Martin, an analyst on the show, then said: "So he was a white Prime Time coming out of college."

That got a laugh from Sanders, who said: "Thank you. And I love him."
