Saints will feel it with temperatures in the 20s at the Linc

PROFESSIONAL football players deny it. So do the coaches. But plenty of Eagles fans think the Birds might have something extra going for them tomorrow night at Lincoln Financial Field as they take on Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, something as potentially toxic as the ton of Philly Love 70,000 die-hards will be dumping onto the field: January in Philadelphia.

Forget those nice nights in the French Quarter, people. Forget the Superdome. It's gonna be cold at the Linc, and there's little doubt the Saints will feel it, especially if Shady McCoy, DeSean Jackson and Wonderboy Nick Foles can put them in an early hole.

If you're tailgating, grab every stitch of green gear you have and layer up. The parking lot tomorrow will see plenty of afternoon sun, but temperatures will be no better than the upper 20s. I'm forecasting light winds (about 4 to 8 mph), but even that will give you a wind chill in the upper teens. For the game itself, the temperature will likely hold at about 23 degrees, under mainly clear skies, with a wind chill as low as 16. Again, layers are the way to go, and don't skimp on the gloves, hats, socks and longjohns.

Of course, as I'm watching the game in the comfort of my heated family room, I fully expect to see a nice closeup of six of you in the stands with no shirts and E-A-G-L-E-S scrawled in green across your stomachs. But as your meteorologist, I cannot recommend this.

Oh, yeah, and did I tell you that jumping up and down and yelling like crazy helps keep you warm? It works best if you keep it up for all four quarters.
