The Eagles-Chiefs pick
FLIP A COIN. Ask me to argue either side here, and I could.
The Chiefs clearly have more talent on the defensive side. This will be the stoutest defensive test for Michael Vick and Chip Kelly, and how their high-flying offense performs tonight will tell us a lot about the prospects for the season.
The only thing that bothers me, taking that Chiefs defense and the points, is that 3 days' preparation for facing this Eagles offense is not a lot of time. Andy Reid is better with more time, not less. I'll be surprised if Andy's offense puts a San Diego-type beating on the Eagles' defense. If it does, this rebuilding year is going to get real ugly, with a visit to Denver up next.
I don't think this game is a referendum on Chip vs. Andy, and their respective systems. The Chiefs would seem to have better players, which in the NFL is something coaching rarely overcomes.
