The Philadelphia Eagles, a month after single-game tickets went on sale, still have tickets left for most of their regular-season home games.

As of this morning, only the Oct. 20 game against the Dallas Cowboys was completely sold out - not even standing room tickets available - according to a check of Ticketmaster.com.

Only single seats and standing room were left for two other games, the Sept. 5 home opener against the San Diego Chargers, and the Oct. 27 matchup with division rival New York Giants.

It was still possible, though, to get three seats together to see ex-head coach Andy Reid's return on Sept. 19 with the Kansas City Chiefs, or the Nov. 17 game against Washington Redskins, another NFC East foe.

Four seats together were doable in all three December games: Dec. 1 against the Arizona Cardinals, Dec. 8 against the Detroit Lions, and Dec. 22 against the Chicago Bears.

In previous years, for at least a decade, the Eagles have sold out in a single day.

The Eagles declined to comment on possible reasons.

The most obvious suspect is last season's woeful 4-12 record, which led to Reid's firing. Fans are also uncertain about new head coach Chip Kelly, how he'll reshape the offense and defense, and who will be the eventual starting quarterback.

And without strong playoff hopes, those December matchups seem likely to be unimportant.

But timing could also be to blame. Five of the last six sales happened in mid-June, and after the 2011 NFL lockout, tickets weren't sold till early August.

This year, unlike the past, standing-room tickets went on sale along with the seats, giving fans a lower price option, $55, in contrast to $75 to $105 (plus fees) per seat, up from $70 to $95 a year ago.

Another factor could be the continuing expansion of the secondary ticket market. The NFL Ticket Exchange not only resells tickets held by season-ticket holders before single-game seats go on sale, but those better seats are also pitched on Ticketmaster. If, for example, you search for four seats to the Giants game, the page that says none available will offer NFL Ticket Exchange options, even before asking if you want to revise your search.

All sales are through Ticketmaster.com or by calling the service's national sales number, 1-800-745-3000.
